En este artículo se señala que la ciudadanía implantada bajo la carta gaditana, aunque mantuvo exclusiones importantes, permitió la participación política de sectores sociales que hasta entonces no habían gozado de tales derechos. Esto tuvo repercusiones importantes sobre la participación electoral y la conformación del poder político; sin embargo, tanto el reconocimiento de la ciudadanía, como el ejercicio del sufragio, estuvieron sujetos a condicionantes circunscritas al ámbito local (donde en primera instancia se hacían efectivos estos derechos), a referentes y prácticas de la cultura política tradicional de Antiguo Régimen y a intereses que pronto plantearon la necesidad de tomar acciones para manipular las elecciones.

Post-tetanic events were recorded in isolated, superfused, epididymal and prostatic halves of the rat vas deferens. Increasing the frequency of nerve stimulation from 0.15 to 15 Hz (1-30 s) and then back to 0.15 Hz produced a post-tetanic potentiation (PTP) of the muscular responses in the epididymal end but a post-tetanic inhibitory response (PTI) in the prostatic half. Both effects were abolished by tetrodotoxin or animal pretreatment with 6-hydroxy dopamine (6-OHDA). PTP was markedly reduced by reserpine treatment or tissue incubation with prazosin. PTI was not altered by adrenergic drugs but partially reduced by tissue application of bicuculline or strychnine, revealing that gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) may modulate the motor transmission towards the prostatic half of the rat ductus.

RESUMEN En el presente trabajo de una manera clara y asequible para el lector se describen conceptualmente una serie de reconocidos eventos que ocurren durante el desarrollo del proceso de embriogénesis somática. Una de las características sobresalientes de los embriones somáticos es que surgen de células somáticas y por lo tanto presentan la potencialidad de producir duplicados de un genotipo específico. Esta característica no solo permite la propagación clonal, tanto en especies propagadas vegetativamente como por semillas; sino también la multiplicación de células somáticas a las cuales se les han introducido genes específicos por ingeniería genética. Los individuos genéticamente modificados pueden ser multiplicados en forma segura y eficiente, evitando los riesgos de la incorporación de genes extraños meióticamente inestables en el resto del germoplasma. La propagación de plantas, a través de la embriogénesis somática, representa el método más eficiente de multiplicación clonal de plantas que se ha desarrollado hasta la fecha. La embriogénesis somática como sistema de regeneración de plantas ha sido empleada para la propagación de plantas y como herramienta para la conservación, y el mejoramiento genético de germoplasmas. No obstante, su empleo para la propagación comercial aún es escaso. Una posible explicación de este fenómeno a nivel mundial está relacionada, en primer lugar, con el desconocimiento que aún existe sobre la biología del proceso de embriogénesis somática, aunado a la no disponibilidad de sistemas eficientes y repetibles de regeneración.

La deportividad es un valor que se puede manifestar en cualquier ámbito de la vida cotidiana, incluido el deporte y que actualmente sufre un proceso de decadencia. Para el presente estudio se ha administrado el cuestionario MSOS a 45 tenistas y futbolistas, con edades comprendidas entre los 14-16 años. En este caso, la variable más influyente en la deportividad es el género, actuando con mayor deportividad las mujeres, por encima de otras como el propio deporte o la edad. Las futuras campañas de promoción de la deportividad deberán incidir especialmente en el respeto al oponente y el rechazo a conductas de antideportividad.

La victoria en cualquier deporte de alta competición es el fin último de todo equipo. Para ello, en el caso del fútbol, se intenta meter más goles que el rival, y el gesto que más probabilidades ofrece de alcanzar tal éxito es el chut, un gesto sobre el que se han realizado numerosas investigaciones. Ahora bien, la duda que se plantea es; ¿cuál es el mejor instrumento de análisis de dicho gesto? Este proyecto da respuesta a la citada pregunta, pues no analiza directamente, como en trabajos anteriores, el gesto, sino que busca determinar qué instrumento es el más apropiado según el componente del chut que se esté analizando. En este sentido se analiza la calidad de los electrogoniómetros, las plataformas de fuerzas, las electromiografías, los dinamómetros isocinéticos, las barreras de fotocélulas, las pistolas de radar y las cámaras de vídeo.

El control de estos parámetros temporales, tales como el tiempo total de juego, el tiempo real de juego, el tiempo de descanso total o la duración de los puntos y el descanso entre puntos permitirán modular la aplicación de las cargas de trabajo en la preparación física del deportista, cuantificándolas en términos de volumen, intensidad o duración, para poder diseñar sesiones de entrenamiento específicas para cada uno de estos deportes.

Many intergenic long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) loci regulate the expression of adjacent protein coding genes. Less clear is whether intergenic lncRNAs commonly regulate transcription by modulating chromatin at genomically distant loci. Here, we report both genomically local and distal RNA-dependent roles of Dali, a conserved central nervous system expressed intergenic lncRNA. Dali is transcribed downstream of the Pou3f3 transcription factor gene and its depletion disrupts the differentiation of neuroblastoma cells. Locally, Dali transcript regulates transcription of the Pou3f3 locus. Distally, it preferentially targets active promoters and regulates expression of neural differentiation genes, in part through physical association with the POU3F3 protein. Dali interacts with the DNMT1 DNA methyltransferase in mouse and human and regulates DNA methylation status of CpG island-associated promoters in trans. Primates are endowed with a brain about twice the size that of a mammal with the same body size, and humans have the largest brain relative to body size of all animals. This increase in brain size may be related to the acquisition of higher cognitive skills that permitted more complex social interactions, the evolution of culture, and the eventual ability to manipulate the environment. Nevertheless, in its internal structure, the primate brain shares a very conserved design with other mammals, being covered by a six-layered neocortex that, although expands disproportionately to other brain components, it does so following relatively well-defined allometric trends. Thus, the most fundamental events generating the basic design of the primate and human brain took place before the appearance of the first primate-like animal. Presumably, the earliest mammals already displayed a brain morphology radically different from that of their ancestors and that of their sister group, the reptiles, being characterized by the presence of an incipient neocortex that underwent an explosive growth in subsequent mammal evolution. In this chapter, we propose an integrative hypothesis for the origin of the mammalian neocortex, by considering the developmental modifications, functional networks, and ecological adaptations involved in the generation of this structure during the cretaceous period. Subsequently, the expansion of the primate brain is proposed to have relied on the amplification of the same, or very similar, developmental mechanisms as those involved in its primary origins, even in different ecological settings.
