Magnetic measurements, at different magnetic field strengths, on polycrystalline samples of the h... more Magnetic measurements, at different magnetic field strengths, on polycrystalline samples of the highly anisotropic ferromagnetic oxide SrRuO3 show irreversibility between field cooled (FC) and zero field cooled (ZFC) magnetization, and a peak in MZFC at low magnetic fields. AC susceptibility curve measured at 10 Oe and the ZFC susceptibility curve measured at 100 Oe are identical, showing a peak at Tp=160 K compared to the Tc=161 K. Tp shifts to lower temperatures with increasing magnetic field and the peak is broadened and rounded off at higher magnetic fields. MFC and MZFC are related through the coercivity. The irreversibility between MFC and MZFC arises from the large magnetocrystalline anisotropy of the compound and not due to any spin-glass-like nature as reported for some other ordered magnetic systems.
