Since perceptions influence people’s judgement and attitudes towards particular phenomena, it could be expected that the staff of an educational institution might hold diverse opinions about the performance appraisal system in the institution. This study focused on employees ’ perceptions of performance appraisal biases or errors, and examined the implications for developing and implementing an effective appraisal system in a polytechnic in Takoradi, Ghana. The study also sought to identify pragmatic ways to ameliorate any appraisal biases that may be present in the institution’s appraisal system. Data was collected from 140 employees of the institution, which included both academic and administrative staff who had worked in the institution for at least two consecutive years, and whose work had been appraised previously. Differences in levels of performance have been attributed to differences in skills and abilities on the one hand, and to different theories of money on the other. This study examined the issue of performance-based pay as a motivational tool for achieving organisational performance, using the situation in a manufacturing company in Ghana as a case study. The main objective of the study was to assess the impact of performance-related pay on the motivation of employees and, subsequently, on the achievement of organisational goals. In all, one hundred and fifty respondents took part in the survey. The sample comprised 20 managerial staff and 60 non-managerial staff. The main research instrument was the questionnaire. The census sampling method was employed and data was obtained through self-administered questionnaires to 146 independent sales force of insurance companies in the Central region with regional office in Cape Coast. Correlation and multiple regression techniques were used to examine the relationships between motivation factors such as recognition, opportunity for promotion, job security, job satisfaction, role clarity and organizational work settings and sales force motivation. The objective of this paper is to examine the effect of supply chain management on hospital performance in Ilorin, Nigeria. The quantitative research approach and the descriptive study design were adopted for the study. The simple random sampling method was used to select respondents from ten, out of fifty-eight, private hospitals in Ilorin. The study employed the Partial Least Squares method in the estimation of the Structural Equation Model’s effect in Supply Chain Management (SCM) on Hospital performance. Results indicate that SCM has no strong and direct impact on Hospital performance, but has indirect impact on performance through Competitive Advantage.
