    Background
Anxiety is a prevalent mental disorder among the elderly, leading to discomfort, disability, increased expenses, reduced quality of life, and dysfunction. Consequently, this study was conducted to determine the prevalence of COVID-19 anxiety and geriatric anxiety, along with the factors influencing anxiety, in the elderly population served by urban healthcare centres in Quchan.

    Methods
This cross-sectional study involved 650 elderly individuals aged 60–95 years. The participants were selected using a two-stage cluster sampling method. Data were collected through three questionnaires: the Geriatric Anxiety Inventory (GAI), the Corona Disease Anxiety Scale (CDAS), and a questionnaire on factors contributing to anxiety. Data analysis was performed using simple and multiple regression with IBM SPSS 24.

    Results
The prevalence of geriatric anxiety among the elderly was 40.3%, while the prevalence of COVID-19 anxiety (moderate and severe) was 22.8%. Significant relationships were observed between geriatric anxiety and substance abuse, stressful life events, comorbidities, COVID-19 anxiety, financial support, loneliness, walking habits, and sleep patterns (P < 0.05).

    Conclusion
COVID-19 anxiety and geriatric anxiety are prevalent concerns among the elderly. Factors like substance abuse, stressful life events, COVID-19-related anxiety, comorbidity, living alone, lack of financial support, and poor walking and sleeping habits, which affect anxiety in the elderly, it is essential to address these factors in life planning and provide services through relevant organisations, healthcare teams, and initiatives by the elderly themselves.

The present study aimed to identify predictive factors for mortality among elderly individuals infected with COVID-19. Methods and Materials: This historical cohort study was conducted from July to December 2021 in the specialized departments for COVID-19 patients at one of the hospitals in Mashhad, Iran. Data were collected from the medical records of 404 elderly patients. Sampling was conducted using the convenience sampling method. Data were gathered through a demographic and clinical checklist developed by the researcher. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression were used to analyze the data. Results: The mortality rate among elderly individuals was 25% (n = 101). Multiple regression analysis revealed significant associations between mortality and age (hazard ratio [HR] = 0.58, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.38, 0.88; P = 0.011), level of consciousness (HR = 0.31, 95% CI: 0.19, 0.50; P < 0.001), and SpO 2 (HR = 0.58, 95% CI: 0.37, 0.92; P = 0.022). The probability of survival after the 19 th day of hospitalization was 50%. Conclusions: Determining predictors of death allows for early identification of elderly individuals at risk and enables the health-care team to provide more effective care, ultimately saving the lives of elderly individuals by allocating appropriate facilities and equipment.

The prevalence of diabetes has been on a growing trend worldwide; accordingly, it has increased from 4.5% in 1980 to 8.5% in 2014 (1). The aim of controlling diabetes is to achieve a hemoglobin a1c (HbA1c) level of lower than 7%. However, this target cannot be fulfilled in almost 50% of the diabetic patients. Poor blood glucose control is a risk factor for the complications associated with diabetes mellitus (2, 3). Oral hypoglycemic drugs are typically used to control this disease. In case of failure in achieving the normal blood glucose level, another oral drug or insulin may be required (4(. According to the literature, only 20% of the diabetic patients are interested in insulin initiation. Furthermore, insulin initiation in these patients is challenging for the health care providers (5). The barriers to insulin initiation can be categorized in terms of their relationship with the health care providers and patient. According to the previous studies, the barriers related to the hea...

Comprehensive studies on community health nursing education have not been performed In Iran and nursing graduates have limited ability to provide health care outside the hospital. However, education policy makers require a thorough understanding of nursing education for training of professional nurses. The aim of the present study is to review the existing challenges of community health nursing education in undergraduate curriculum, and explore its dimension. In this review study, some medical resources including nursing index, nursing consult, Proquest, Scopus, Elsevier, Pub Med, SID, Iranmedex, Magiran and Medlib were used in order to cover all associated studies. Searching articles from 1991 to 2012 was performed by using key words: Undergraduate nursing education, community health, and review studies separately and in combination. Inadequate productivity weakness of holistic and community-oriented attitude of nursing students, non-applicability and poor training methods are the biggest problems in community health nursing education. Education of community health nursing is of poor quality and absence of educational models and appropriate practical programs challenge its progress against major barriers. The findings of this study have provided compelling evidences for authorities involved in nursing education. We believe that the desirable change would be possible by considering the experiences of students; teachers and employees involved in community health nursing, a process providing better understandings and directives for nursing education policy makers.

Background/Purpose: Consideration of mental health status together
with levels of happiness in elderly patients undergoing hemodialysis
is among issues disregarded in health systems even though this age
group is likely to suffer from numerous mental disorders induced by
physical problems. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of
group reminiscence therapy (GRT) on Mental Health Status and Levels of
Happiness among Elderly Patients on Hemodialysis.
Methods: This clinical trial study was conducted on 60 elderly patients
undergoing hemodialysis from 1 February 2019 to 30 August 2019.
The sampling method was simple random allocation. The intervention
was then implemented through structured GRT for the patients in the
experimental group within eight sessions, twice a week. The control
group, however, did not receive any interventions. SPSS Version 18.0 was
    used to analyze the data.
Results: The results revealed that the difference between mean scores of
mental health status between both experimental and control groups was
significant following the implementation of GRT (p=0.02), so the mean
scores in the experimental group (30.76±8.07) had reduced after the
given intervention compared with that in the control group (37.13±6.28).
The mean scores of levels of happiness had also significantly increased in
the experimental group following GRT (114.4±7.98) compared with that
    before it (93.03±19.97) (p ≤0.02).
Conclusion: It was concluded that implementation of GRT could have a
positive effect on mental health status and levels of happiness in elderly
and adult patients aged ≥50 years under going hemodialysis.
