RESUMEN:
Con el fin de destacar las acciones de compromiso, y vocación de servicio de los profesionales Centro de Enfermedades Raras y de Difícil Diagnóstico, (CERyD) y la acción solidaria llevada adelante por Dar Por Mas Sonrisas (ONG sin fines de lucro que promueve la donación voluntaria de sangre y medula ósea, en apoyo a los pacientes hemato oncológicos), se realiza este trabajo de investigación. Con el afán de traer a la luz, que la vocación de servicio de un médico especializado, y la necesidad de un ciudadano común, pueden afectar las políticas de salud públicas y generar un beneficio en común en un sistema sanitario complejo y deficitario, falto de insumos y desbordado de pacientes.
En una primera instancia, se tomó como ejemplo el Síndrome de Marfan, que servirá de punta pie inicial de ésta investigación, en un sistema en el que la falta de información sobre enfermedades raras lleva a errores diagnósticos, enmascaramiento de síntomas y fracasos de tratamiento. Esto resulta ser un obstáculo para la investigación, correcto diagnóstico y tratamiento de enfermedades poco prevalentes. Se pierde entonces la posibilidad de registrar la enfermedad y ofrecer tratamiento adecuado a pacientes que así lo requieren.
Para realzar las acciones solidarias que generaron cambios en las políticas de salud pública, respecto de la donación de sangre y medula ósea, se llevó adelante la investigación tendiente a demostrar que en un sistema de salud, principal garante de un tratamiento efectivo para patologías como la leucemia, se carece del bien más importante para concretarlo: la sangre. Se detalla el trabajo realizado por Andrea Colombo fundadora de la ONG.
En la actualidad, en nuestro país, el diagnóstico de enfermedades poco frecuente está en una etapa muy avanzada de investigación, diagnóstico y seguimiento de pacientes, gracias al intenso trabajo del Dr. Crespi y su equipo de trabajo de CERyD y en cuanto a la donación de sangre y medula ósea, con el trabajo cooperativo del Banco de Sangre del Hospital Garrahan, Posadas y las ONGs integradas en la Red Nacional de Sangre y Medula Osea, se logró el abastecimiento del Banco de Sangre del Hospital Garrahan con donantes 100% voluntarios.
ABSTRACT:
In order to highlight the actions of commitment, and vocation of service of the professionals Center for Rare Diseases and Difficult Diagnosis, (CERyD) and the solidarity action carried out by Dar Por Mas Sonrisas (non-profit NGO that promotes donation voluntary blood and bone marrow, in support of oncological haematous patients), this research work is carried out. With the aim of bringing to light, that the service vocation of a specialized doctor, and the need of a common citizen, can affect public health policies and generate a common benefit in a complex and deficient health system, lacking in supplies and overflow of patients.
In the first instance, the Marfan Syndrome was taken as an example, which will serve as the initial point of this investigation, in a system in which the lack of information on rare diseases leads to diagnostic errors, masking of symptoms and treatment failures. This turns out to be an obstacle to the investigation, correct diagnosis and treatment of diseases that are not very prevalent. The possibility of registering the disease and offering adequate treatment to patients who require it is therefore lost.
To enhance the solidarity actions that generated changes in public health policies, regarding the donation of blood and bone marrow, the investigation was carried out to demonstrate that in a health system, the main guarantor of an effective treatment for pathologies such as leukemia, it lacks the most important good to make it concrete: blood. The work carried out by Andrea Colombo, founder of the NGO, is detailed.
Currently, in our country, the diagnosis of rare diseases is at a very advanced stage of research, diagnosis and monitoring of patients, thanks to the intense work of Dr. Crespi and his team of CERyD and regarding the donation of blood and bone marrow, with the cooperative work of the Blood Bank of the Garrahan Hospital, Posadas and the NGOs integrated in the National Blood and Bone Marrow Network, the supply of the Blood Bank of the Garrahan Hospital was obtained with 100% voluntary donors.
