Photocatalytic oxidation reactions have the potential to completely mineralize organic compounds ... more Photocatalytic oxidation reactions have the potential to completely mineralize organic compounds to carbon dioxide for treatment of waste water. The aim of the present study was to design the photocatalytic rotating drum reactor and analyze its performance for wastewater treatment of textile industry. This study consist of TiO 2 catalyst preparation by anodizing method, XRD and SEM characterization, followed by photocatalytic degradation. The anodizing was performed in an electrolyte comprised of water, NH 4 F and ethylene glycol using 20 V of potential for 2 hours. It was revealed that TiO 2 structure was anatase with crystalite size 8-19 nm and formed tube with pore diameter 30-110 nm. The activity of the catalyst showed by photocatalytic treatment of wastewater using the rotating drum reactor. ABSTRACTUpflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB)-Wetland Integrated Technology was applied to treat... more ABSTRACTUpflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB)-Wetland Integrated Technology was applied to treating fish-processing wastewater, taking into account for its simplicity, rapid and economical as well as its capability for reducing pollutant, so the effluent can fulfill effluent standard regulation. The research was carried out by the following steps: identification of wastewater characteristics, WWTP design and construction, and WWTP operational trials. The trials showed that UASB could remove COD average 72.3% and could achieve the highest COD removal of 95.42%, with retention time 24 hours. Wetland could remove COD 52.9% on average and the highest COD removal was 78.22%. Simultaneously UASB-Wetland hybrid Technology could remove 86.25% COD on average, and the highest COD removal was 98.58%. Penentuan Ad, AH° dan AS° suatu reaksi redoks dapat dilakukan dengan metode elektrokimia Pada pri... more Penentuan Ad, AH° dan AS° suatu reaksi redoks dapat dilakukan dengan metode elektrokimia Pada prinsipnya metode ini didasarkan pada pengukuran perubahan potensial sel pada berbagai variasi temperatur. Dalam?enelitian ini sistem yang dipilih adalah reaksi redoks antara logam Zn dengan ion Cu +. Untuk menentukan nilai potensial sel, dibuat sel volta dengan anoda logam Zn dalam larutan 7nSO4 1 M dan katoda logam Cu dalam larutan CuSO4 1 M. Perubahan potensial sel diukur pada selang temperatur 10° - 40° C dengan menggunakan multimeter digital DT-830B. Setelah dibuat grafik antara potensial sel versus temperatur, AG°, All° dan A,S° reaksi dihitung dengan menggunakan persamaan persminstt termnrlinarnara Dan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diclapatkan nilai AG°, MI° dan AS berturut-turut adalah. -211,53 kJ morl, -220,90 kJ morl dan -31,46 J r1 mo14, dekat dengan nilai yang didapat dari penelitian Saleed dan Davies serta nilai dari data literatur. Dan basil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode elektrokimia dapat digunakan untuk menentukan M-1°, AS° dan AG° reaksi-reaksi redoks. Determination of AG°, AH° and AS° the redox reaction have been done by elec-trochemistry method. The principle of this method was measuring of potential cell change at various temperatures. This experiment used redox reaction of Zn and Cu in the voltaic cell. The cell consists of a copper electrode immersed in a solute of 01304 I M and a zinc electrode immersed in a solute of ZnSO4 1 M. The cell potential change have been measured at the temperature range of 10° - 40° C by digital multirneter DT-830B. The values of AG°, AH° and AS° respectively are -211.53 kJ mo14,-220.90 kJ mol4 and -31.46.1 K4 mo14. This values are in agreement with the result of Saleed and Davies's experiment and from the liternhre values.
