CNES is currently upgrading with Syrlinks an existing X Band Transmitter for cube & nanosatellites (TRL 9) to use DVB-S2 CCSDS telemetry standard. The Variable Coding and Modulation (VCM) mode will provide up to 60% increase of the downloaded data compared to Constant Coding and Modulation (CCM), a link budget improvement of about 2 dB in QPSK for the same transmitted power and a better spectral efficiency.
