The present work evaluates the two-layer technique on the heat affected zone (HAZ) of AISI 4140 steel welded with different heat input levels between the first and second layer. The weld heat input levels selected by the Higuchi test were 5/5, 5/10, and 15/5 kJ/cm. The evaluation of the refining and/or tempering of the coarsened grain HAZ of the first layer was carried out using metallographic tests, microhardness measurements, and the Charpy-V impact test. The tempering of the first layer was only reached when the weld heat input ratio was 5/5 kJ/cm. The results of the Charpy-V impact test showed that the two-layer technique was efficient, from the point of view of toughness, since the toughness values reached were greater than the base metal for all weld heat input ratios applied. The results obtained indicate that the best performance of the two-layer deposition technique was for the weld heat input ratio 5/5 kJ/cm employing low heat input.

The main characteristic of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a preoccupation with an imagined defect in appearance in a normal-appearing person or an excessive preoccupation with appearance in a person with a small physical defect. In this non-controlled study, our objective was to describe the socio-demographic, phenomenological, and long-term outcome features of a Brazilian sample of patients with BDD. We performed a chart-review of the 166 patients who attended the Obsessions, Compulsions, and Impulsions Subprogram of the Institute of Psychiatry of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, during the period between 1998 and 2005. Twenty patients (12%) had clinically significant BDD. This sample was characterized by a predominance of female (n = 11; 55%), single or divorced (n = 18; 90%), and economically unproductive patients (n = 17; 85%). We found an average of 2.5 current imagined defects per patient. The most frequently reported body parts of excessive concern were the overall appearance, size or shape of the face (n = 7; 35%), the skin (n = 6; 30%), the hair (n = 6; 30%), the nose (n = 5; 25%), and the body build and weight (n = 5; 25%). Most individuals exhibited a chronic condition (n = 13; 65%) and kept the same concerns during the course of the disorder (n = 12; 60%). All patients displayed compulsive behaviors, including recurrent mirror checking (n = 14; 70%), camouflaging (n = 13; 65%), reassurance seeking by means of repetitive questioning of others (n = 9; 45%), and excessive use of cosmetics (n = 7; 35%). Two patients reported "do-it-yourself" surgeries. Seven patients had current suicidal ideation (35%). Six patients (30%) showed no insight over their dysmorphic beliefs. Fifteen patients (95%) exhibited psychiatric comorbidities, mostly obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) (n = 14, 70%) and major depressive disorder (n = 11; 55%). The majority of patients were treated naturalistically with serotonin reuptake inhibitors (n = 15; 75%), either solo or in association with antipsychotics (n = 10; 50%). Nevertheless, only 5 (25%) responded favorably to treatment during the long-term follow-up (CGI < or = 2). BDD is a severe disorder that is frequently associated with other psychiatric conditions and responds poorly to treatment in the naturalistic setting. No significant trans-cultural variations were identified in the comparison between Brazilian, North American, and European samples.

The lack of a standardized visual method may lead to inaccurate severity estimative and wrong conclusions. The objective of this research was to develop a diagrammatic scale to assess the severity of grape isariopsis leaf spot on grape, caused by Isariopsis clavispora. A diagrammatic scale with six levels of disease severity (1.60; 3.20; 6.60; 13.00; 24.10 e 40.24%) was developed and validated to assess grape isariopsis leaf spot. For validation, the severity of 30 leaves presenting different intensities of the disease was estimated by eight raters. Accuracy and precision were determined by linear regression and by the actual severity scale. This one provided good levels of accuracy and accuracy of visual estimation. The coefficient determination average was higher than 0.89, and absolute errors were lower than acceptable limits. The levels of accuracy, precision and reproducibility measurements of isariopsis leaf spot severity on grape significantly improved with the use of diagrammatic scale. The proposed diagrammatic scale proved to be adequate for severity assessments of grape isariopsis leaf spot.

Esse estudo pretende reconhecer e analisar o perfil do estudante do curso de Administração de uma Universidade pública localizada no Estado do Ceará-Brasil e o desenvolvimento das suas inteligências múltiplas, principalmente as interpessoal e intrapessoal, no decorrer do tempo. Trata-se da confrontação dos resultados desse mesmo estudo (parte da tese da autora) realizado no início do ano de 2015, sendo portanto, um estudo quantitativo, de campo, longitudinal, com amostras pareadas de 30% da quantidade da turma que iniciou em janeiro daquele ano. No que concerne ao tratamento e análise dos dados recolhidos foram privilegiados procedimentos estatísticos através da utilização do software estatístico SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science), utilizando também os dados da pesquisa anterior e  fazendo um estudo comparativo antes-depois ou seja, amostras pareadas.
