ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is a global network working with more than 2500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development. Active in 125+ countries, we influence sustainability policy and drive local action for zero emission, nature-based, equitable, resilient and circular development. Our Members and team of experts work together through peer exchange, partnerships and capacity building to create systemic change for urban sustainability.

Santiago de Cali, Colombia
An ICLEI Member since 2002, Santiago de Cali, the capital of the Colombian Pacific, is set to host COP16 on Biodiversity, from 21 October to 2 November 2024. Situated in one of the most megadiverse regions globally, Cali is committed to fostering local solutions for global environmental challenges, ensuring a greener future for its residents and the planet. With the most sustainable neighborhoods in Latam, Cali is actively pursuing sustainable development through initiatives like the “Vision Cali 2036” plan, which emphasizes urban sustainability and the MIHabitat program, recognized with the 2024 Scroll of Honour Award from UN-Habitat, showcases the collaborative efforts of the Cali Mayor’s Office and local communities.
