AERIS aims at facilitating and enhancing the use of atmospheric data from satellites, ground based , aircraft and balloons. For this, AERIS generates products from observations, but also many support services for the use of data , help to conduct campaigns, or interface with models. It aims to strengthen the existing system. It consists in four centers of data and services that are defined as having the means of manage data collectively. In addition to this, laboratories, laboratory networks or centers of expertise are essential elements for algorithmic development and prototyping. A significant advancement over existing data centers or bases is to develop effective governance.
