There are several aspects of Black Rhetoric as a field of research and it is impossible to sum up all of its components in one article or monograph. Therefore, the essay intentionally limits the range of topoi covered from what are considered classical rhetorical observations to contemporary approaches in light of advances in social media about the field with a specific focus on the African Diaspora. Therefore this essay will focus on the relationship between some intersecting influences on the emergence of modern Black rhetoric. Specifically, the study will look at how the emergence of modern Black rhetoric engaged various ideological and socio-economic formation’s such as liberalism, the modern world system, and the digital turn early in the 21st century.
