Cheikh Anta Diop (29 Disamba shekarar 1923 - 7 Fabrairun shekarar 1986) ɗan tarihi ɗan Senegal ne, masanin ɗan adam, masanin kimiyyar lissafi, kuma ɗan siyasa wanda ya yi nazarin asalin jinsin ɗan adam da al'adun Afirka kafin mulkin mallaka .[1] Ana ɗaukar aikin Diop a matsayin tushen tushe ga ka'idar Afrocentricity, kodayake shi da kansa bai taɓa bayyana kansa a matsayin ɗan Afrocentrist ba. Tambayoyin da ya yi game da nuna son kai a al'adu a cikin binciken kimiyya sun ba da gudummawa sosai ga juyar da mulkin mallaka a cikin nazarin wayewar Afirka .
Diop ya bayar da hujjar cewa, akwai ci gaban al'adu iri-iri a tsakanin jama'ar Afirka da ke da muhimmanci fiye da ci gaban bambancin kabilu daban-daban da aka nuna ta hanyar bambance-bambance tsakanin harsuna da al'adu na tsawon lokaci.
