Head of Educational Development at the University of Greenwich and responsible for developing university policy and strategy on learning and teaching. Director of several nationally funded learning and change management projects, including the Digital Literacy in Higher Education project, and the UK-wide Students as Change Agents network. PI of national TEL projects working with Schools and Colleges to develop study skills and systems Deputy director: JISC (DEL) eLISA project. Deputy director: JISC (D4L) eLIDA CAMEL project. Director: (BECTA) International Baccalaureate e-Learning Laboratory (iBEL), Strand leader FDTL5 Associate Online. Developer of CAMEL model, which continues to be used to support the work of many innovative national projects. My research and publication lies mainly in the development and evaluation of learning design. I am a contributor to the Larnaca Declaration on Learning Design, and one of the designers of the OLDS MOOC. I am co-director of the university’s cross-university research eCentre, which hosts the Academic Practice and Technology (APT) conference. In 2010, I established Compass: the Journal of Learning & Teaching. Appointed National Teaching Fellow in 2006 for developmental work with teachers in e-learning. Appointed Principal lecturer for excellent in teaching in 2002. Extensive experience of consultancy in higher and further education: learning and teaching.
