  • de-dupe "empower an equitable, informed, and interconnected society", preferring actual citation/quotation to EWP rather than copy/pasting their work
  • summarize with "principles-based" in-place, thus explicitly centering our principles in our technical work, and thus connecting that to expanding upon "principles" both later in this section and the next section
  • serial comma update per original in EWP

I still think this is less impactful without connecting the "why" in the initial line, but I'm going to go with being overruled.

I can see arguments in both directions, and would like to hear from others to decide between this PR and #182

As this is editorial, I don't think it needs wider committee review before landing. If someone comes up with something that's being lost or an opportunity to add something meaningful, we can iterate accordingly.
