On CRAN. Initial development release of some important/useful data sets you can use for quantitative peace science research. Contents include:
- Estimates of democracy (incl. Polity, V-Dem's polyarchy, and @xmarquez' wonderful extended UDS data)
- Estimates of GDP per capita, GDP, and population (by way of Fariss et al.'s (2022) simulations)
- Convenient means of merging Correlates of War state codes into Gleditsch-Ward system data (and vice-versa).
This package will support {peacesciencer} by alleviating some of the space they occupy in that package. They also require some of the most frequent updates in light of newer, improved, and amended data.
(FWIW, {codename} (v. 0.5.0) offers a suggestion of "authorized anglerfish" for this release, hence the silliness in the title).
