📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe changes unify and centralize platform-specific notification and socket-checking logic in the Podman extension. In the main extension source, explicit platform checks for macOS and Windows are replaced with a generalized approach that excludes only Linux, using new methods for notifications and socket checks. The notification logic is consolidated into Estimated code review effort3 (30–60 minutes) Possibly related PRs

Hey @eqqe - I've reviewed your changes - here's some feedback:
- Consider renaming checkMacSocket to something like handleMacNotifications to more clearly convey its orchestration of multiple notification checks.
- Decouple the OS‐detection logic from your notification methods so that callers decide when to invoke notifications, keeping the notifications class more focused and testable.
- Since checkMacSocket is now called in multiple code paths, add a guard or state flag to prevent duplicate notifications on repeated invocations.
