I was looking for some spine examples, and found them mixed in with the tick examples so hard to separate out. Since all of the examples in the existing "Spines and ticks" fall into either ticks or spines, I thought it would be clearer to separate them into their own gallery categories.

Flake8 errors:

./examples/ticks/date_concise_formatter.py:70:1: E402 module level import not at top of file
./examples/ticks/date_concise_formatter.py:149:1: E402 module level import not at top of file

Since you renamed the files, you have to adapt the filenames in .flake8.
