PR Summary
This PR documents the internal function
_parse_legend_args(). Additionally it extends the tests and cleans them up a bit.This is in preparation of #18107. Within this PR, we only clarify and test the current state -- making sure we won't break anything later. The proposed API change will come as a followup PR.
