As part supporting prior versions of jQuery, this issue will encompass:

  1. Add support message to top of page..
  2. Changes to the support page.
  3. New Support menu item.
  4. Style changes for the above.
  5. (OMIT) Changes to the README file (leave this for jQuery team).

Discussion of what these changes are took place in this Google doc.
