To enable remote access to your Homebridge connected accessories you need to setup a device to act as a home hub. With a home hub, you can control your HomeKit accessories remotely, grant access to people that you trust and automate your accessories to do what you want, when you want.
The following devices can act as a home hub:
- HomePod
- HomePod Mini
- Apple TV 4K
- Apple TV HD with the latest version of tvOS
The device that you set up as a home hub must remain in your home, connected to your home Wi-Fi network and turned on.
The process for enabling remote access to Homebridge is the same as any "native" HomeKit accessory. See https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT207057 for instructions.
