@larkee what blocks this release? It is the last one needed to allow for dropping Python 2.7 support in the core libraries.

@larkee Note that merging this PR will actually clear up a bunch of the flakybot-raised issues (those created during periodic jobs which roll back the HEAD to the last release tag).

@larkee Technically, the merge button is available (but not "all green" in appearance) -- only the do not merge label is blocking it here.

@tseaver Yeah, blocked was the wrong word. I want to include #434 in the release so it's waiting on it. The tests seems to be passing again so I'll merge this release in the next few hours 👍
