I don't think so, since we don't currently read the file at all?
Just set the whole environment to be the specified one. No need to complicate things.

EdgeDB has been renamed to Gel, and so has this python package. Changes ======= * Rename the package to gel! The package still provides an ``edgedb`` module in addition to ``gel``, but ``gel`` is now preferred.
