This is a fork of the repo listed below. The purpose is to add a "canSend()" method to determine if a message can be sent over the WebSocket without blocking. That feature is useful for FluidNC, which sends frequent status messages to its WebUI user interface. If the WiFI connection from the FluidNC controller to the WebUI browser is slow or stalled, blocking can result in bad performance. It is better to drop a status message than to block.
The new method is present in the canSend branch. It in turn depends on a new canWrite() method in the WiFi driver than manages the underlying TCP connection, so this library must be linked against a modified version of the WiFi library, which can be found at https://github.com/MitchBradley/WiFi#canWrite .

- wss / SSL is not natively supported in WebSocketsServer however it is possible to achieve secure websockets by running the device behind an SSL proxy. See Nginx for a sample Nginx server configuration file to enable this.
This libary can run in Async TCP mode on the ESP.
The mode can be activated in the WebSockets.h
(see WEBSOCKETS_NETWORK_TYPE define).
