Metal Inert Gas (MIG) Welding process has been used for hardfacing. Welding input parameters plays a vital role for determining the weld quality. In hardfacing process weld bead geometry plays significant role. This paper shows the effect MIG welding process parameters on weld height. The input parameters taken under investigation are welding current, welding speed and gas flow rate. To predict Weld Height Fuzzy Logic based model is prepared using fuzzy expert rules, triangular membership function and centroid area method for defuzzyfication process using MATLAB fuzzy logic tool box. An attempt is made to relate statistical technique and computational technique to model the predicted response. The results obtained by Fuzzy, ANN and Regression are compared with experimental data to identify the best modelling technique among them.

The Navier-Stokes equations for three-dimensional steady flow is solved by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code. The experimental test result of the original pump was compared with the data predicted from the numerical simulation. The comparison shows the closeness of predicted values with the experimental values, leads to validation of the numerical model under the specific range of operating conditions. This paper concerns the proposed design, modeling and selection of the components using mechatronics approach. The design can meet the variation in cutting the length as well as the thickness of the rod. This is mandatory for various sizes of power switches.

This material serves as a guide and update for readers working on the text based segmentation area of Computer Vision. First, the need for segmentation is justified in the context of text based information retrieval. Then, the various factors affecting the segmentation process are discussed. Followed by the levels of text segmentation are explored. Finally, the available techniques with their superiorities and weaknesses are reviewed, along with directions for quick referral are suggested. Special attention is given to the handwriting recognition since this area requires more advanced techniques for efficient information extraction and to reach the ultimate goal of machine simulation of human reading.

Square or any trapezoidal shape stirrups are used to tie rod together by means of tight wires. In small construction sites workers bend stirrup using traditional way. There is no other way to make stirrup with less human effort. And for this reason automation is required which is the objective of the project presented. It is possible to decrease construction lead time with increase of the stirrup bending rate by automation only. Here an attempt is made to design and develop an " Automated Stirrup Bending Mechanism " (ASBM) using the principles of hydraulics and electronics. Its use reduces a lot of labour cost, effort and construction lead time and production of various sizes of stirrup and accuracy increases.
