Amazon’s interactive voice assistant Alexa has been giving users incorrect answers—and attributing that information to Full Fact.

Examples of the wrong answers included telling users that recent Northern Lights displays weren’t a natural occurrence, and that the PM has announced a boycott of diplomatic relations with Israel.

Alexa errors

An interactive NHS England report claims that its figures show the number of “patients” receiving or waiting for treatment.

This is not correct. The report actually shows the number of cases waiting or just beginning treatment—the number of patients is different as some may be waiting for more than one thing.

NHS confusion

A video of a man falling from a window is being shared online with claims it shows the One Direction singer Liam Payne, who has died in Argentina.

This isn’t true. The video shows a man attempting to escape a building fire in Mexico City in 2023, and is unrelated to the singer’s death.
