Sanctions (restrictive measures)

An essential tool through which the EU can intervene where necessary to prevent conflict or respond to emerging or current crises.

EU sanctions are fully in line with International law, including International Humanitarian Law. The Commission adopted guidance and a number of tools to assist humanitarian operators in delivering assistance in compliance with EU sanctions.
