[edit]violett (strong nominative masculine singular violetter, comparative violetter, superlative am violettesten)
Usage notes
[edit]- Generally, German uses violett and lila synonymously for all blends of red and blue.
- It is possible to distinguish between violett (“violet”), lila (“lilac”), and purpurn (“purple”). However, such a distinction is chiefly restricted to people interested in arts, fashion, and the like. The word purpurn, also purpurfarben, is not part of the general vocabulary.
