[edit]From Proto-Basque *lauR (“four”). Often compared with Iberian lau(r) (“four”) and Aquitanian *laur-, present in numerous compounds, such as *laurco, *laurina and in the toponym *Laureiereta (“Four Mills”).[1][2][3] Possibly related to labur.
