[edit]From Old Galician-Portuguese adesora (13th century, Cantigas de Santa Maria), contraction of a de so hora (“at the very moment”). The semantic evolution, which also happened in Portuguese and Spanish, was due to rebracketing: des- (“dis-”) + hora (“hour”).[1]
