[edit]Just as participle endings, the following suffixes forbid the inflective ending: -al (central), -ous, ant (fragant), ard (northward), ate (irate), ect (erect), ent (recent), ese (obese), ful, id (rancid), ite (polite), ive (festive), less, some, ish, ic (basic).
