WV:UNC needs updates
[edit source]The current version of WV:UNC says that Bureaucrats will rename, but this is outdated (renaming is currently handled by stewards and global renamers), how should we update this section? Should we simply replace Bureaucrats to stewards and global renamers, or do we need further rewriting? MathXplore (discuss • contribs) 02:46, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- To be perfectly honest, I think most, if not all, of this section is unnecessary. The vast majority of inappropriate usernames are vandalism-only accounts, and are blocked as a matter of course. It is exceptionally rare that a productive contributor will have an inappropriate username; on the off-chance that one shows up, they can be directed to request a rename through Special:GlobalRenameRequest. - The steward change is uncontroversial, so I already did it: keeping outdated directives is just going to cause problems. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 03:48, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
