More for The Doe Run Company

[edit]

Hello! I'm an employee of The Doe Run Company and I'm here as a representative of the company, per my last message at this WikiProject. Continuing my work to update the company's Wikipedia article, I have saved an expanded and updated draft here, and posted an edit request on the article's talk page. My goals are to correct factual inaccuracies, source all content, and provide a more thorough overview of the company's operations, among others outlined in more detail in the edit request. Would someone from this page be able to give this a look over? TS at Doe Run (talk)

Project-independent quality assessments

[edit]

Quality assessments by Wikipedia editors rate articles in terms of completeness, organization, prose quality, sourcing, etc. Most wikiprojects follow the general guidelines at Wikipedia:Content assessment, but some have specialized assessment guidelines. A recent Village pump proposal was approved and has been implemented to add a |class= parameter to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, which can display a general quality assessment for an article, and to let project banner templates "inherit" this assessment.

No action is required if your wikiproject follows the standard assessment approach. Over time, quality assessments will be migrated up to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, and your project banner will automatically "inherit" any changes to the general assessments for the purpose of assigning categories.

However, if your project has decided to "opt out" and follow a non-standard quality assessment approach, all you have to do is modify your wikiproject banner template to pass {{WPBannerMeta}} a new |QUALITY_CRITERIA=custom parameter. If this is done, changes to the general quality assessment will be ignored, and your project-level assessment will be displayed and used to create categories, as at present. Help requested on Commons

[edit]

I recently added a bunch of images to Commons:Category:Shafer Museum, including quite a few that relate to mining. Not a topic I know much about, and no doubt someone knowledgeable could do a lot to improve descriptions and categorizations of these. - Jmabel | Talk 22:34, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Uranium mining in the Bancroft area needs probably one more source assessment at Featured Article Candidates. If anyone is willing to assess the article, it would be helpful.

Input please on Polymetallic ore

[edit]

The page Polymetallic ore has been restored after an RfC about it. I have done some editing which I think is about OK, but as I am not an expert in either mining or geology I might not have included the right refs, there could be things missing or mistakes. I would appreciate expert input from those of you who know more. Ldm1954 (talk) 13:46, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
