Robert L. Strayer was an Army officer assigned to the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment during World War II. He commanded the 2nd Battalion and was later the executive officer of the regiment. He left the Army in 1945. He was minimally represented in both the book and the miniseries. Neither his Highest rank (Colonel) nor highest award (Silver Star) qualify him for a page under WP:SOLDIER. Post-War, was involved in insurance. He resided with his wife in both Pennsylvania and Florida. News articles were generally about social and family events (two of the three references in our article are to different versions of his wife's obituary), earning Strayer no notability.
