Anime Expo Again

[edit]

Please stop adding unsourced content. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

I'm going to breakdown what I'm trying to communicate at this point.
1. You didn't even read the edits I made. I can tell as you didn't cite Danny Choo. Also other edits were added that you undid.
2. You can't add content to Wikipedia without having a source as you have done SEVERAL times for Anime Expo. I personally don't like using primary sources for conventions, but until they update a reliable secondary source such as animecons.com, it's better then nothing.
3. I would prefer we both work to fix this issue, as right now this isn't productive and fustrating.

Microsoft Theater page move

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Nokia Theatre L.A. Live a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Microsoft Theater. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. -- Wikipedical (talk) 20:51, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Anime Expo. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

You can choose to not talk on the talk-page, however undoing another person's edit at every turn without discussion or edit summary is disruptive and does lead to blocks. I recommend you discuss your edits on the talk-page of Anime Expo. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 13:07, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Source for File:2015RoseBowl.jpg

[edit]

Hi Ucla90024. You listed "Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association" as the source for File:2015RoseBowl.jpg but I am unable to find the image anywhere on the game's official website. Do you remember where you got the image? More specific information is needed for the source in order to verify that the image, as presented, has been previously published and is the official image used by the game is not simply a montage of two separate images created by someone else. Thanks in advance. - Marchjuly (talk) 05:14, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abuse of editing privileges. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
  • I was initially going to block you for about a week, but the more I've looked at your editing history the more I'm concerned that you just don't show where you're learning from your past mistakes and blocks. Basically the problem with your edits at Anime Expo is this: you kept adding specific dates without anything to confirm them. This was reverted several times by another editor (Esw01407). At some point you did post a comment on the talk page at Talk:Anime_Expo#Contract_extension, however rather than try to start up a welcoming conversation you made a very snide remark and posted a snippet of a press release that did not back up all of what you were trying to claim in the article. While yes, the convention has confirmed that they will run until 2019, they have not confirmed the dates for any of the conventions running from 2017 to 2019. I gave a good explanation as to why your dates were almost certainly incorrect, as the convention typically runs the first weekend in July. This usually corresponds with the 4th of July weekend but it is not always held July 1-4, a fact that is heavily supported by the convention's history in the article. A look at the calendar for 2017 - 2019 shows that it will not be held on those exact days and if the convention sticks to their traditional schedule, 2017's convention will be held from June 30 to July 3, 2018's will be June 29 to July 2, and 2019's will be July 5 -8. Since all we have are the years, there's no reason why this cannot be summed up in one sentence in the article - which it already is. Per typical standards on Wikipedia we do not list years only in convention templates if the only things that we have confirmed are convention years. We would need more things like exact dates or guests to really warrant adding this information to the table.
The issue with posting incorrect dates is that it's problematic for several reasons. First is that this is original research, which is not permitted on Wikipedia. Second is that several other outlets use Wikipedia as a source and if they report incorrect dates that have not been confirmed with AE, that can cause a spread of misinformation that can very negatively impact several people. Thirdly, this poses issues with AE itself, as it would be well within their rights to complain that Wikipedia is deliberately spreading misinformation if we left this information up on the page. While I wouldn't say that this would pose a huge legal issue, Wikipedia would like to avoid AE having to make official gestures to remove incorrect information from this site. Finally, many things can happen before a con announces their official dates and it's possible that they might not even hold the convention on the first weekend at all. They've held conventions on the second weekend on some rare occasions, so it's not unreasonable to expect that this could happen again before AE announces the official exact dates.
What bothers me is that you've been edit warring since 2008 and you've been blocked for this on several occasions. I also note that in 2010 you were caught creating sockpuppets for the sole purpose of supporting your edits and I'm actually very surprised that you weren't permanently blocked right then and there. I don't see where you've really changed your editing habits at all nor do I see where you're particularly interested in changing. You've been blocked four times for edit warring and you've been given multiple, multiple chances to change your habits and you've wasted each one of them. Given this, I would have to recommend that no other admin unblock you since I just cannot see where you will ever change. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:23, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Pac 12 tourney logo.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Pac 12 tourney logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Also:

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
