ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
Friendly advice
[edit]Hi TryKid, I'm writing about your replies in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wolf in sheep's clothing. So far, you've responded to five Keep !votes with your rebuttal to their !vote. This gets close to what we call bludgeoning (WP:BLUDGEON), which is discouraged. Your points have already been made, and the more that you repeat them, the less convincing they seem. I encourage you to step back, and allow other editors to look at the page and make their own judgments. I hope this helps. Toughpigs (talk) 17:05, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I'd also encourage you to hold off with nominating any more common idioms for AfD until after we've had a chance to look at the existing ones. It's necessary to demonstrate that there are no good sources for an encyclopedia article before we can delete, and doing the necessary searching can take a little time. When too many articles on closely related topics get nominated simultaneously, it's hard to give them the attention they deserve. Elemimele (talk) 17:45, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
