Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Congressionalstaff, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you have edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been reverted for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of deletion, you might like to draft your article before submission, then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! -MBK004 01:16, 24 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Why did you start a new talk on a new subpage instead of my talk page? I've moved it to my talk page. From your username and edits you look like a role account or account with a purpose. See User talk:Rlevse, near the bottom, for a response. RlevseTalk 02:13, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You clearly are here to as an SPA and/or ROLE account and you didn't heed my warning. So you have been blocked. RlevseTalk 01:41, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Sir Rlevse may I respectfully request an unblock of my Wikipedia account, I promise to maintain the neutrality and reliability of the edits that I will make with end in view and objective of building the Wikipedia encyclopedia and not for promotion, advocacy or other unsuitable agenda. To this end, I would like to respectfully suggest that edit be made on the Wikipedia article Roilo Golez to correct the information indicated there that Congressman Golez served one year as National President of the Girls Scout of the Philippines, it is not so as Congressman Golez served as National President of the Boys Scout of the Philippines. Also, further under the bulleted list showing his record as public servant, it is indicated that Congressman Golez served two years as Chairman of the "Cerebral Palsy Victims Association", this should be "Elks Cerebral Palsy Project". This is in accordance with the official website of Congressman Golez http://www.golez.com/resume.htm and his Personal Data Sheet filed at the Philippine House of Representatives. Hoping for your kind understanding.Congressionalstaff (talk) 11:53, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I believe that you miss the reasoning behind this block: your username suggests that you are a role account, which is contrary to the username policy. It also suggests that you have some more knowledge in certain areas, and that perhaps your edits are more important than others. You also have an extreme conflict of interest. You would be required to use {{unblock-spamun|new name|reason}}, and clearly explain how you will edit in the future to ensure there are no further issues in order to be unblocked and change your username accordingly (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:48, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

{{unblock-spamun|sw111|Bwilkins, I understand that my username suggests that I am a role account, however, this account is not shared by multiple people and the edits I make under this account represent only my own edits as an individual. I promise to continue to edit in good faith and not for the purpose of promotion, advocacy or other unsuitable agenda, but solely for the purpose of building and improving the Wikipedia as a trusted reference website. I am here to edit on topics that I am knowledgeable in or have very reliable resources to base my edits on, and I am willing to learn more with a lot of help from the Wikipedia community. When in doubt about the neutrality of my future edits, definitely I would ask you guys first for comments and advice, and submit the proposed or suggested edits to a discussion for approval on the relevant talk page or noticeboard using the necessary request template. I hope you can give me a chance, thanks. Congressionalstaff (talk) 18:05, 29 June 2010 (UTC)}}[reply]

Help

[edit]

Hi MBK004 may I kindly request your assistance as an active sysop and editor of Wikipedia and as a duly elected Coordinator of the Military History WikiProject. This with regard to the Wikipedia article "List of US Naval Academy Alumni (legislators)" on which I would like to respectfully open a discussion on as per your instruction. I would like to include the picture of a noted alumni who had set a record not only during his stay at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis but also made historical impact as a politician and public servant in the Philippines, Congressman Roilo Golez. While at the academy he excelled in academics as a consistent Superintendent's List midshipman, in sports becoming a four-year undefeated academy boxing champion in his weight division setting a record in then more than 100 years of academy boxing, and in leadership having held the position of Company Commander which is a rare distinction for foreign midshipmen. In the Philippines, he had a long and productive career as a public servant having been elected in landslide victories in 1992, 1995, 1998, 2004, 2007, and 2010, serving as Representative of the City of Paranaque in the 9th, 10th, 11th, 13th and 14th Congress of the Philippines and will be serving in the incoming 15th Congress of the Philippines on his unprecedented sixth term in office as a congressman. He is also the President of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association, Philippine Chapter and is a Life Member of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association. He had also served as the President of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Governor of the Philippine National Red Cross, and President of the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines. Thank you very much in advance for your invaluable time and inputs. Best regards. Congressionalstaff (talk) 02:35, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re. Roilo Golez

[edit]

I need help in making a correction on the Wikipedia article Roilo Golez, the information indicated there that Congressman Golez served as National President of the Girls Scout of the Philippines is erroneous since Congressman Golez served as National President of the Boys Scout of the Philippines. Also, further under the bulleted list showing his record as public servant, it is indicated that Congressman Golez served as Chairman of the "Cerebral Palsy Victims Association", this should be "Elks Cerebral Palsy Project". This is in accordance with the official website of Congressman Golez http://www.golez.com/resume.htm and his Personal Data Sheet filed at the Philippine House of Representatives.  Done -shirulashem(talk) 17:23, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much Shirulashem, I noticed the wrong information had been posted for quite a while and was very concerned that a lot of people might have been misled or may have doubted the credibility of the article on Wikipedia Roilo Golez due to the edit made by 222.127.131.138 revision as of 08:43, 13 March 2009 describing the same as (Typo corrections). Again, thank you for making the timely and needed edit. Congressionalstaff (talk) 18:20, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
