File source problem with File:WZRD Album.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:WZRD Album.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Non-free rationale for File:50 Cent I'm On It.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:50 Cent I'm On It.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Replaceable fair use File:Hot Rod rapper.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Hot Rod rapper.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 22:43, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:KendrickLamar.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Nomination of The Lost Tape for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article The Lost Tape is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Lost Tape until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. SummerPhD (talk) 23:53, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Officer down lloyd banks.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Officer down lloyd banks.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:25, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 5 (Murder by Numbers). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Jprg1966 (talk) 19:52, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

IT ISN'T 'CONFIRMED' UNTIL SOMEONE FROM THE LABEL POSTS THE FULL TRACKLIST, THE FOUR THAT ARE STILL THERE WERE CONFIRMED BY 50 CENT IN AN INTERVIEW, THE REST WERE NOT — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.26.64.133 (talk) 20:03, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your reasoning sounds correct, but remember to be cool. SrGantsta: I don't think you are lying when you say you have heard certain tracks. The problem is that Wikipedia editors are not reliable sources by themselves. You must be able to verify anything you post, using reliable independent sources. --Jprg1966 (talk) 20:07, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

yo Jprg1966, i have the tracks.. if you want see, i'll show ya. i was in the listening session

That's very generous of you, but I am also not a reliable source for this purpose. I believe everything you're telling me, but it doesn't change that this information must be published before it can be posted to Wikipedia. You will be more than welcome to do that once that happens. --Jprg1966 (talk) 20:28, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, Dre did not produce the song, Dre hasn't produced anything in a while. Besides, that is obviously Swizz Beatz's production, it has all the elements he uses, sounds nothin at all like a Dre beat. Dre could have added production but I don't see any difference between Key's version and 50's. Also thisis50 really isn't a good source, any other website will tell u Swizz Beatz produced it. Btw producers usually get writing credits as well and Dre always has writing credits, he may never write his verse but he usually makes his own changes and modifies it to his likening. and yea I understand the mixing process is part of the production, but Em's not the producer, feel me? 1Sire (talk) 02:53, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article V.6: The Gift has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable music release. No independent refs. No claim of notability. No charting.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orphaned non-free media (File:I Dont Dance.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:I Dont Dance.png.

Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:13, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Before I Self Destruct, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 20:55, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You could have briefly explained that by, as it says above, "giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary." The burden of making changes is on the one making changes, not for me to check out whether content removal may or may not be justified. Dan56 (talk) 21:04, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cruel Summer (album)

[edit]

Thank you for your message.

I edited the page due to several jargon/slang terms, repetition, unnecessary information, misuse of grammar, and awkward sentences.

Also, there is no need to repeat the featured artists, when it is mentioned in the tracklist. "Long time Kanye's friend" is false grammar, and "production team" is jargon/slang. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CaptainCharisma7X (talkcontribs) 21:08, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blanking Creepers (song)

[edit]

Hi, I wanted to let you know I reverted your blanking and subsequent AfD tagging of Creepers (song). You shouldn't blank an article while nominating it, and you did not complete the nominating process for WP:AFD. If you think it should be deleted please feel free to renominate it with a reason. Also if your having trouble with the process, feel free to ask for help. Monty845 20:16, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey man, I've blanked that article because it isn't a released song, and it isn't a single. The song also isn't confirmed so obviously isn't charted. Can you delete the page for me? May you would like to check this page for see more info about it. Thank you. SrGangsta (talk) 20:25, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to provide a deletion rationale, I can copy it to an AfD on your behalf, and complete the nomination for you, though you can also do that yourself, see WP:AFDHOWTO. Monty845 20:58, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I will do it by myself. Thank you.SrGangsta (talk) 21:05, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for visiting my talk page. Welcome to Our House is a Shady, Interscope album. Consider the Aftermath listed on iTunes an error. First off, Slaughterhouse is not an Aftermath group, second Aftermath was not involved in the production of this album and therefor their logo does not even appear on the album. Enots (talk) 07:05, September 4, 2012 (UTC)

Hi,

Aight, but what I've understood was 50 sent her the record and she recorded her vocals. So then she made a solo version, which was produced by her husband, Swizz Beatz. You can clearly note the differences on the instrumental. Also, Interscope Records confirmed for HipHopDX that Dr. Dre was the only producer. You can check it here 50 Cent f. Alicia Keys - New Day (Prod. Dr. Dre) | New Hip Hop Music & All The New Rap Songs 2011 | HipHop DX. Thank you. -SrGangsta (talk) 00:40, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
50 Cent himself said the new version (his version) has strings that were not present on the version produced by Dr. Dre. These strings were added by Keys, who's version also contains the strings which she clearly says her husband Swizz Beats produced her version therefore Swizz Beatz must be attributed as a producer on the song. Obviously this will be cleared up if any subsequent interviews appear, and equally if there is a CD single, otherwise the album release will clear it up. If Keys added strings and vocals... someone must have produced those strings and vocals. In the industry this is called co-production or additional production. As we don't have a source that specifies, saying producer for both Dre and Beatz seems most sensible. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 00:58, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Relapse (Eminem album) does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks! Dan56 (talk) 19:32, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alright now? SrGangsta (talk) 19:36, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No (edit summary here). Also, I dont understand your removal of "also" from "Dr. Dre (also exec.)", which signifies his credit as both record producer and executive producer, according to the article's personnel section. If you want to take issue with that, then please bring it up at the article's talk page and others will comment. Dan56 (talk) 19:41, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:50 cent and ne-yo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:50 cent and ne-yo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. SMS Audio

[edit]

Hi Gangsta. I noticed you were active on the Wikipedia article on 50 Cent and thought I would see if you could take a look at my COI contribution to the SMS Audio page (see instructions here). I also pinged User:Letsgo13, because he brought up SMS on the 50 cent talk page, but it looks like he has been active for quite some time. Any feedback would be appreciated. Corporate Minion 22:48, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Lemme see if I dig it. You're asking for a help to improve the page of SMS Audio? Cause if it is, no problem. I'll be helping. SrGangsta (talk) 00:03, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You'll see on the Talk page that I have a draft of the article in a sandbox, but I'm asking for review, feedback and consideration. My approach to conflict of interest is "permission-based" (see WP:BRIGHTLINE), so I ask for review by an impartial editor before making any edits where I have a WP:COI. The "R" in the {{Request edit|R}} can be replaced with a G, A, D, or P for "go ahead," accepted/implemented, declined or partial. You can also think of it like the AfC process though, where the reviewer often makes changes as they see fit, when an article is almost ready.
He, I have a habit of making things complicated don't I :-D Corporate Minion 00:19, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Gangsta. We have the images all sorted out for the SMS Audio page. If you approve of the revised version, just replace the "R" with a "G" in the {{request edit}} template at the top of the Talk page, or you may move it into article-space directly if you like. Corporate 15:07, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I done it. SrGangsta (talk) 16:04, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I moved it to article-space. I'm always looking for new editors to recruit to the request edit queue if you're interested in helping. Thanks again for spending time to review our work. Corporate 01:14, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok ok.. I will help to improve the page if necessary. Anything you want me to do, feel free to ask me. SrGangsta (talk) 00:04, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

One more request

[edit]

I think I have unintentionally inflated SMS Audio's charitable giving in a way that's misleading on the SMS Audio page. It turns out they only make a donation to the Feeding America initiative for headphones that are sold through their website and purchased domestically. This can be confirmed in secondary sources - I should have been paying closer attention to the exact verbiage.

What would be your opinion on adding something like this to the part about the Feeding America initiative?

"for each headphone that is sold domestically from the official SMS Audio website"

Corporate 19:27, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think you could add it... I haven't seen it when I checked the page; my bad. By the way, don't you think we could create another section for the Feeding America initiative? SrGangsta (talk) 19:35, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I am going to add the links of SMS Audio page where it can be found, on Wikipedia. SrGangsta (talk) 19:38, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I might in another scenario break out a Community, Charity or Philanthropy section, in cases where charitable efforts are significant and worthy of notice.
In this particular scenario, I think the charity seems significant, but there is no additional information of interest to add in order to justify a section.
On the other hand, I read that the Feeding America initiative is tied to a larger context regarding a business philosophy 50 cent has about businesses that serve the public interest and the connection between business and our social and economic problems.
I am sure there are other sources on this and - in my opinion - it's the kind of story that goes under-reported on Wikipedia. Corporate 20:47, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
One thing. I have been told that SMS Audio released new products - STREET by 50 DJ - City Grey, DJ Pauly D STREET by 50 DJ - Black, STREET by 50 DJ - and we could put some info there in a box like on Beats Electronics' page. Also, they have more products coming soon. If you can, check their Instagram account (@smsaudio) to see the new versions. SrGangsta (talk) 22:00, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'll be damned. I wasn't aware of the new products and I see plenty of media coverage for sources. Their PR agency is going to give me a coverage report, so I can pull together the sources. I think the grid is a great idea. In fact some of the detailed product specifications might be less advertorial in that format. Corporate 19:00, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi SrGangsta. I didn't know about the products you mentioned above when I helped them write the SMS Audio article. I didn't want to be over-controlling about the article or micro-manage it, so I just got all the media coverage together on the Talk page. Your welcome to take what's useful from them - I can update if you like - or I'd be happy just leaving them there for any editor that happens upon it. Thanks again for your help! Corporate 16:43, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just checked the pages you have posted on article's talk page. Yeah all of them are useful to the article, so should I create another section/information of it? By the way, are you having any problem with that guy Cantaloupe2? I have seen him undoing some edits on the page... SrGangsta (talk) 21:16, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cantaloupe and I have an interpersonal dispute. Meh, I leave it up to your editorial judgement. Be bold! ;-)
Editors with a COI are not the ideal choice to be making editorial decisions, but we do already have coverage reports where secondary sources are collected; offering transparency into those reports by putting them into citation templates is something that is ideal for us to do, while making editorial choices is ideally left to Wikipedia's organic volunteer model. Corporate 13:12, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see I got mentioned so here's my thought. From what corporate stated "Their PR agency is going to give me a coverage report, so I can pull together the sources." that is part of the issue. I think many articles he writes are heavily biased and doing things in a way advised by company's PR firm in my opinion sway the article away from neutral, which creates an WP:NPOV. When visiting SMS audio's page, I see clothing as their products. I added this, but now its been removed. I'm curious why this was removed form the product section. While its not their core products, its their second category of products. When the subject company affects what gets included and what doesn't on Wikipedia through their PR agent, it affects the neutrality. Your inclusion of only the winning race cars as opposed to including some that crashed and burned in Honeywell Turbo Technology is an example of biased inclusionCantaloupe2 (talk) 01:35, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that. However you please is fine. I might take a crack at it eventually if not, but I think it's better in general to just offer up the sources if an editor has an interest in the subject. I know every company article I go to I feel disappointed the company hasn't provided sources on the Talk page to make it easier to cover them. We already collect these sources ourselves and it's not much effort to share them. Cheers! Corporate 16:26, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I guess you should wait until the article meets notability before uploading the cover art. Also, as a side note (and as a recommendation from an experienced song articles creator); I recommend you to make the background, composition and reception sections on all your song articles so they are complete, of course if you fidn enough information for it :) — ΛΧΣ21 14:33, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Album sales

[edit]

The reference you have given me is unreliable (per this consensus and this one also) as we do not know the source's origin and how they themselves have calculated these figures - it's basically just an unedited blog, which is most certainly unreliable. For accurate album sales figures, stick to sources from sites like Yahoo! Music, Billboard or other similar websites. If you want to check the reliability of a source, search for it first at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard, or ask me if you are still not sure. The article 2013 in hip hop music has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Clear WP:CRYSTAL

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. §FreeRangeFrog 18:41, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Question about 50 Cent's Discography

[edit]

Short answer: no. Until an actual song title is known, it should not be listed in the table, regardless of whether an artist has said that the song will appear on the album, as it implies that the song's title is "TBA" (when it is most likely not). Out of interest, which yet-to-be-titled songs are you referring to? I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 17:10, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:MajorDistribution.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:MajorDistribution.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:38, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why would it be deleted if it's an song's artwork being used on its page? It needs to be kept. SrGangsta (talk) 15:46, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The image needs a valid fair use rationale for the article in which it is used. This is not currently the case, so the image violates WP:NFCC#10c. See the explanation in the deletion template on the file information page. --Stefan2 (talk) 13:15, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RE: "Major Distribution" charts

[edit]

They probably haven't appeared at Billboard yet as they don't usually update the artist archives until Sunday. Check 50 Cent's artist page then, and the chart positions should be there. If they don't appear there in the near future, search the Billboard.biz site for links to the charts which it appeared on. I Am RufusConversation is a beautiful thing. 21:01, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Major Distribution

[edit]

Hello and good evening. Just wanted you to know that Major Distribution was released as a single, similar to We Up. Don't want to start an edit war. Cya --188.109.162.249 (talk) 18:22, 29 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. That song hasn't been released to radio, so we shouldn't consider it a main single like My Life and We Up (which was just sent to radio yesterday). It is a promotional single, just like First Date.SrGangsta (talk) 18:35, 29 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

About 1.5 years ago or so you showed an interest in this article, where I am affiliated with their PR agency. I wanted to let you know I have circled back to it on the Talk page in an effort to trim some trivial, slightly promotional information and bring it up-to-date, etc. The editor that was previously engaged that had a battleground mentality was banned a while back.
