Hello, I'm Amaury. I noticed that you made a change to an article, EMI Records, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Amaury (talk) 02:30, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The two earlier Billboard links provide supporting evidence as do UK company records. Sadly this page is now completely wrong again. http://www.discogs.com/label/63404-EMI-Records-Ltd and http://www.discogs.com/label/274008-EMI-Records-Limited are also heavily researched headers that support the changes.

You need to take your concerns to the talk page and reach a consensus. However, please take a look at the title of the page: EMI with no periods. Amaury (talk) 05:27, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm well aware of the the header - this is the history of the EMI label - it did not have periods, however the two companies you have confused are differentiated by these. They are not the same entity. Company records have been linked to as well which support that absolutely. I have the EMI Records Ltd company resolutions that cover this on my desk. You can find a key one here: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/00068172/filing-history/MDAxNzU1NDE5NmFkaXF6a2N4/document?format=pdf&download=0

What is bizarre is that incorrect edits to this page supposedly supported by Billboard articles were allowed when these show that the edits were wrong. I change to data supported by the citations and it's reverted???

It would have helped to say this from the beginning, but I'll leave it alone now. Happy editing. :) Amaury (talk) 05:43, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Crowded House's nationality

[edit]

Regarding your edit to Gravity Stairs: Crowded House were formed in Melbourne per the prose on their main article, not in New Zealand, and are categorised as Australian on their main article. I'm aware of the nationality of most of the members. I really would not think this is a contentious topic—that at least makes them as Australian as it does a NZ band. If you have an issue with that, take it up at Talk:Crowded House. Don't go to each of their album articles and rewrite what is written there because you have a vested interest in what is classified as from New Zealand and what isn't. Your edit has been reverted so the next step is discussion per WP:BRD. Thank you. Ss112 15:01, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

They were in Australia for a few months after they formed. They have been in New Zealand ever since. I guess accurate entry is an alien concept here. Snig27 (talk) 16:35, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
“I am aware of the nationality of most of the members”. Crowded House is, and always has been a vehicle for the songs and music of Neil Finn. Who he has used for this purpose has changed over the years. This is not Led Zeppelin or The Beatles where they are a “band” and it never has been. It really isn’t a ‘vested interest’, I’m just interested in accurate entry and would seem to have more expertise in this topic here as evidenced by your glaringly inaccurate post above. Please don’t edit - vandalise - things you don’t understand.
Thank you. Snig27 (talk) 17:02, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
