Hello, Romanov loyalist. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Sultan Mohammed Ali al-Kitbi, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

A community decision has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to the Syrian Civil War and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Konstantin Petrovich Nechaev

[edit]

Hello, Romanov loyalist! I noticed that you have written articles about both modern Chinese as well as Russian history, and want to ask if you can possibly help me to further expand an article that I have created: Konstantin Petrovich Nechaev. While I have found numerous English sources about his service in China, I have problems to find quality sources about his activities during the Russian Civil War. Though a number of Russian websites and forum entries give details such as him serving under Vladimir Kappel (for example on rusk.ru ), I don't think that we can cite those here on Wikipedia. As I cannot read Russian, I have not been able to consult Russian books on the issue. Furthermore, I have not found any copyright-free images of him. Can you possibly help me in this regard? A tag has been placed on Category:Sammarinese taekwondo practitioners requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

I have read the article. It is excellent. I am prepared to add the B class assessment but I would appreciate if you can add a citation for the lone sentence introducing the organization and any of the organization units that do not have citations. I have had some problems with bot asssessments for these types of lists. I found that the extra citations, even if repetitive, are needed to avoid having these entries considered as new paragraphs which would require a citation at the end under the project guidelines. If the entire list can be set up in such a way that a single citation can be used at the beginning or the end to cover the chart, that could be sufficient. However, the chart does not seem to be set up that way and the introductory sentence is clearly stand alone. I am sorry to bring up this tedious detail for such a good article. If it is a problem in some way, please let me know and perhaps we can work out a solution. Donner60 (talk) 06:00, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Russian submarine Morzh

[edit]

I am assessing the article as B class. Bosphorus is a redirect to the article Bosporus. As such it would be better to use the Wikipedia spelling or at least to pipe the first use so anyone closing scrutinizing the article will know that you realize it is a redirect. Thanks. Edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! – Daℤyzzos (✉️ • 📤) 12:34, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Balkans or Eastern Europe, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
