Hans Fruhstorfer

[edit]

Hi! It appears that you are the person to have initiated and added the most edits to the article on Hans Fruhstorfer, so I thought that I would reach out to you. If I am mistaken for having done so, please accept my apologies and disregard the following.

Hans Fruhstorfer was my great grandfather and I have for years been trying to obtain some sort of information on him as much of his past has been a big giant mystery for me my entire life. Even my father knew very little about him. We know that throughout his many journeys and travels, he somehow managed to accumulate a great fortune, for example, but no one in my family can tell me how or from whence he came about this fortune. According to my father, "he went to South America and came back a very rich man." That's about it.

I will be honest with you, his work doesn't interest me as much as his personal life does. I would like to learn more about him and his antecedents in Passau and his life in general. You seem to have access to information about him, and I would like to request that perhaps you might be able to give me some resources where I might be able to begin to do some research on his life. My German is very rudimentary at best, but I imagine that almost everything one would find on him would only be in German and I am quite ok with that.

If you can help me with some information on where to look for resources on his life and family, I would be eternally grateful to you. Thank you in advance.

Alejandro Fruhstorfer de Montalban

Hello, Notafly. This message is being sent to inform you that a request for a contributor copyright investigation has been filed at Contributor copyright investigations concerning your contributions to Wikipedia in relation to Wikipedia's copyrights policy. The listing can be found here. Thank you. --Scorpions1325 (talk) 04:26, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No idea why my contributions are a problem. I use very little
literature post 1927. Much is from Seitz (1927) and I add a pd
template if the quote is verbatim. Two other members of Wikiproject Lepidoptera have been blocked (one for perceived racism). It seems to me that the issues raised in these cases reflect a problem of understanding the nature of taxonomic and descriptive science for instance no one would claim copyright on a faunal or synonym list (quite the reverse). Best regards Robert N Notafly (talk) 18:29, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I looked at a lot of your recent contributions. That does appear to check out. However, the fact that you have 12 warnings dating back to 2007 worries me. Some of them had to be WP:RD1'd. Scorpions1325 (talk) 00:37, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I will heed your warning. As it happens I have no major contributions in mind at the moment.Just fixes some of which may be pd templates or rewordings.May I contact you if I am unsure.Maybe a few deletions will be necessary Many thanks Robert N Notafly (talk) 12:26, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
