Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.
Thanks!
Also, just to make sure, do I count as having a conflict of interest with Saudi Arabia because I live there? Loymdayddaud (talk) 06:17, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Loymadayddaud, No, you are not considered COI if you edit any pages/articles regarding Saudi Arabia because you reside there. COI is refer to edits that you are related to/affiliated to/associated with the subject. Example if you know/works with/friend with the subject then you have a COI, or you create a page/paid by the subject that you have affiliate with then you have a COI. This also apply to if you create a page about yourself. For further detail - see WP:COI. Let me know if you have further question. Btw if you have time, I suggest you to complete WP:TWA to familiar with the fundamental guidelines of Wikipedia to help you on editing Wikipedia. Stay safe and best. Okay. Thanks again! Loymdayddaud (talk) 06:23, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As a summary, just provide an independent, reliable source (inline citation) on edit you change or add from the newspaper or books. Sources can be any languages as long as they meet the said requirements. You can use the "horizontal format" of Template:Cite Web for the source from the web and Template:Cite book for source form the book. If you are interest in counter vandalism, you can participate in WP:CVUA program once you have more than 200 "main space" edit and choose your trainer. Thank you. Improper page use

[edit]

A Wikipedia user page is for someone who is active in working for the project to give a little information about themself in connection with their work for the encyclopaedia: it is not a place to post any other kind of material.JBW (talk) 13:14, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, sorry. I wasn't aware of that. Loymdayddaud (talk) 13:15, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited BZFlag, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 3D. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:58, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reporting. That's been fixed. Loymdayddaud (talk) 03:27, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Other boxes moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Other boxes. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and empty. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 08:36, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that that was a page in my account. If it wasn't, feel free to delete it. Sorry for the trouble.
Definitely wasn't supposed to be on the main Wikipedia. Thanks! Loymdayddaud (talk) 09:02, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

PRODs and Stub articles

[edit]

Hello, Loymdayddaud,

Being a stub article, or being a short article or not receiving a lot of page views are not good reasons for proposing deletion of an article. Please see Wikipedia:Overzealous deletion#Short articles and Wikipedia:Arguments to avoid in deletion discussions#Article size, in fact, read those entire pages. Wikipedia has many thousands of stub articles and they are completely acceptable. Being short is certainly not a valid argument to delete a page. You also might look and see who created an article, if they have been around for many years and have created hundreds of articles, you should probably raise a question on their User talk page rather than tagging a stub article for deletion. And if you look at your Contributions, you'll see that except for one article, Moxley & Co., all of the other articles you have PROD'd were untagged and not deleted.

If you have questions about Wikipedia's deletion proceses and when it is appropriate to use them, see Wikipedia:Introduction to deletion process or ask at the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 19:44, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Also, doesn't help anything is a completely subjective opinion and is not a valid reason for deletion, ever. Liz Read! Talk! 19:55, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
