Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of battles 1601–1800, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Orangism. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

You may not be aware. but according to WP:DRAFTIFY articles may only be moved back to Draft: space once. See WP:DRAFTOBJECT. Your move rationale "Bold move, but again, violating WP:NOTACRYSTALBALL. Please discuss on the draft talk page before recreating." is interesting but is not relevant, I'm afraid. Your prior move to Draft was acceptable, but this one is not. I am aware that all editors can fall into this trap by accident, moving an article back to Draft a second time, but the accidental move is harder to justify when:

  • you were the editor who moved it the first time
  • it is a draft that was accepted at an AFC review

Please consider your action, and please correct both your erroneous move to Draft for the second time, and your thought process. It is easy to describe this action on your part as WP:Move warring, and I think that is probably not your intention 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:30, 12 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I knew my moves were bold and the double-drafting was risky but I will leave it to the talk page. Jebiguess (talk) 01:40, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It would be better if you actually corrected the issue. Leaving it to the talk page sounds fine, but it really is not.
Your routes were limited, the more so since you knew it to be risky. Your choice was one of the deletion processes, ideally AfD, or to leave it alone. Draft talk pages tend not to be the venue where these matters are discussed.
Since you feel strongly about this, as evidenced by your second move to Draft space, why not undo that second move, and then consider whether you wish to send it to AfD, where it will receive community consideration not just your own consideration and that of Theroadislong who accepted the draft at AFC.
Note, please, that I am making no comment about the article itself. This is a discussion about your second draftification of the same article. If you send it to AfD I may or may not choose to offer an opinion, and will consider it at that time. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 05:57, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Generally, if an article is accepted by a member of the WP:AFC team, you're better off taking it to WP:AfD instead of re-draftifying. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:41, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have accepted the article a second time. If you don't think it should be in article space, a consensus process, in particular AFD, is better than move-warring. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:12, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think what you are seeing is a consensus in formation. Four AFC reviewers (I am one) consider that your route was incorrect. None of us will object if you send this to AfD. Some of us may choose to offer opinions there. If you choose to take it there please make sure your rationale is policy based. You should be aware that a valid AfD outcome is to draftify, and that can be part of the nomination.
A more important things is that you take the issue of redraftification on board. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 15:44, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Battle of Bilohorivka (looking into the crystal ball)?

[edit]

Unfortunately for the Ukrainians, comrade, this is not looking into a crystal ball, but last night I no longer had the strength to look for new sources about the Russian encirclement of the town of Bilohorivka, which they cannot take from the front for months because of the strong Ukrainian positions there. The fall of Soledar shows from the plane literally and figuratively that this is their goal. Tonight, I continue to update the article about the possible fights after the fall of Soledar on January 16. The Russians are taking a big initiative because they are again attacking Bilohorivka from the south and southwest with the aim of encircling that area, and that is why the Ukrainian media are already talking a lot about the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Bilohorivka towards Siversk (on which the Russians are attacking from the south with full force) or Sloviansk (which is the last the goal of their military engagement in Donbass). Yesterday, February 1, the Russians broke through the front on the Svatovo-Kreminna line towards Liman, which the Ukrainian, Russian, Anglo-Saxon and French media are talking about today. Today, February 2, Zaluzhny ordered that by the weekend, Ukrainian forces should withdraw from Bakhmut and Bilohorivka and probably from Siversk to the third defensive position due to the threats from a whole series of operational encirclements, but also because of the apparently spent resources due to the defense of Bakhmut and from almost Vuhledar so that probably the aim was to carry out offensive operations from Bilohorivka towards Lysychansk, Sieverodonetsk, Kreminna and Rubizhnoye have obviously failed. The prices at Soledar and Bakhmut are obviously too high for Ukraine at the moment. — Baba Mica (talk) 20:00, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Could you link the sources stating Ukraine plans on withdrawing from Bilohorivka? I cannot find anything about that asides from pro-RU accounts on Twitter and Telegram without video/photo evidence, which are deprecated sources. Ukrainian media and social media is silent, so this very well could be misinformation by Russian media.
Also, I don't think you understand the point of my previous message - a battle for Bilohorivka page wouldn't have a clear victor right now or in the past, as Russia and Ukraine have both captured the town (or what remains of it) multiple times since June. Even if Russia did capture the settlement, it wouldn't be a clear victory until they push further and the settlement is out of the grayzone and frontline. I understand you have created a page for the battle right now, but it is impossible to gather the facts of the past and present of the town until the war is over nor decide a clear victor.
The other breakthroughs you mention seem exaggerated based on reports I have seen on both pro-RU and pro-Ukrainian media. If you could link any reports showing tangible Russian successes in the Svatove-Kreminna area, from reliable sources, they should be added to the article for it. Jebiguess (talk) 22:18, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's why I'm waiting for the news to be confirmed because there is still no confirmation, and the level of destruction of Bilohorivka that the public will soon see will be terrifying and equal to those in Mariupol, Mariinka, Avdiivka, Soledar and Bakhmut. That place is strategically important for both sides, because from it offensive operations can be carried out for the Ukrainian side towards the east and north on as many as four large cities of Lysichansk, Sieverodonetsk, Kreminna and Rubezhnoye and to penetrate further into the Luhansk region, while for the Russian side it is Bilohorivka. very important because if they were to occupy it, they would have a more favorable situation for their offensive actions towards the west in the direction of the city of Siversk (which they besieged and attacked from the direction of Bilohorivka this summer, but unsuccessfully due to the Ukrainian Kharkov counter-offensive), to the northwest towards the city of Liman (which they lost also in the September Kharkiv counter-offensive) and of course Sloviansk (which is their main goal) since they squandered their chance this summer when they controlled the cities of Izyum, Lyman and Svyatogorsk and held positions near the small suburbs of Krasnopilya and Bogorodichnoe only ten kilometers north of Sloviansk. However, the Kharkiv counter-offensive blew them all the way to the line of the current Tavilzhanka-Nizhnia Duvanka front line in the north, Svatove-Kreminna in the middle and to Bilohorivka-Spirne in the south. That front was very stable for the Ukrainian side until the defeat at Soledar, which was obviously very difficult, and now we are looking at the collapse of this front, because around December 27 on the Bakhmut front, the Russians launched something similar to what the Ukrainians did on August 29 on the Herson front, and on the on January 19, the Russians carried out an ambush maneuver on Zaporozhye, similar to the Ukrainian maneuver on September 6, when the Russian front at Balakleya and Izyum first disintegrated in three days, and then in the next few days the front disintegrated at Krasnopilya and Svyatogorsk, so that everything ended with the fall of Bilohorivka and Lyman. Now we see that with the firing of Soledar, the entire Ukrainian front collapses in a similar way at Bakhmut and Sieversk, only slightly slower than the Ukrainian August-September rush. The causes are the same. The Ukrainian side has now run out of human and military resources, as well as the Russian side this summer, which spent a lot of energy on the defense of Kherson and the unblocking of Donetsk, and especially in attempts to surround Sloviansk and twice Kharkiv with measly resources, while the Ukrainian side received reinforcements in the summer human and military resources and skillfully used it. Now we see that Zelenski gambled with the lives of his soldiers in Bakhmut, who are threatened not with a strategic but with a complete encirclement similar to the one in Soledar if they do not retreat to Chasov Yar by the weekend, which is their only escape route since the Russians have closed all other routes. Zelensky did not want to listen to the military strategist Zaluzhny, but played political games with the life resources of his army, while this time Russia carried out mass mobilization and increased its human and armed resources. Now the Western press no longer questions whether and when Bakhmut will fall and what Ukraine will have to surrender until it forms a new line of defense, and especially what if the Russians completely surround Bakhmut and massacre the Ukrainians in Bakhmut in a similar way as in Soledar, because unlike them, the Russians, when the Ukrainian September storm hit, ran headfirst from Balakleya regardless for a month, leaving entire cities to the Ukrainians until they formed the Svatove-Kreminna line because they were saving human resources. With the fall of Bakhmut, and probably other important strategic cities such as Chasov Yar in the center, Toreck in the south, and Siversk and Bilohorivka, the position of Zaluzhny will only strengthen, and the fate and political career of Zelensky will depend only on the will of the Western powers. Unfortunately for the Ukrainian effort, it may happen that even the Tavilzhanka-Nizhnya Duvanka-Svatovo-Kreminna front line collapses. I expect the formation of a third line of defense on a similar route north-south Dvorichna-Kupyansk-Svyatogorsk-Sloviansk-Kramatorsk-Druzhkivka-Konstantinyvka and maybe additionally Toretsk-New York-Avdiivka-Krasnohorivka-Vuhledar if they manage to withstand strong Russian pressure until March. That's just my opinion. I am guided only by the logic of the Russian way of warfare, because Ukraine also applies Russian warfare tactics all the time, only this time with modern Western weapons, and that is why it is difficult for the Russians to quickly and easily deal with Ukraine until politicians who easily trade human lives intervene. — Baba Mica (talk) 05:13, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
At the same time, a new Russian invasion from the north hangs non-stop with the possibility of Belarus' participation, and it is not excluded that Poland and Romania (known as European hyenas since the First World War) will once again be involved in the thrashing of their neighbors, while the Hungarians have openly hostile relations with the authorities in Kiev. . The Ukrainians are in a very difficult position because their armed resources are limited and depend only on the political will of Western countries, and Russia has both human and armed resources unlimited at the moment. Who knows what kind of scenes of horror we will encounter when the military operations are over in Mariinka, Avdiivka, Bilohorivka and especially in Bakhmut when the weapons are lowered and the cameras are turned on. There will probably be a much larger pile of corpses of Ukrainian soldiers than in Mariupol and Soledar. If the Russians don't strike from the north from Belarus and the Belgorod region soon, then in the spring and summer we will probably see months of mauling around these big cities on the third line of defense I mentioned in the big answer above with the likely use of western tanks with occasional counterattacks from the Ukrainian side, which will give less results somewhere, but due to Russia's great mobilization and determination to destroy the Ukrainian army, it is clear to all of us that Ukraine cannot win this war without a NUCLEAR CONFLICT between Russia and the NATO alliance, because in the Russian media, this war is largely perceived as THE THIRD PATRIOTIC WAR with a huge emotional charge, while in the West they look at this war as the last opportunity to break Russia or, if they cannot win, then at least to make good money from this war and to recover their shaken economies. What is dangerous is that if NATO and the EU perceive this war as a war for their bare survival, then the future of the World is very DARK. Especially for the people of Europe who are said to have NO WORLD WAR WITHOUT EUROPE. — Baba Mica (talk) 06:01, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Battle of Elakla

[edit]

Hello, Jebiguess,

Thank you for creating Battle of Elakla.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Hello, and thank you for creating this article. Readers would find it very helpful if you can provide additional context linking this incident to the broader Operation Barkhane conflict. At the moment, it is not clear why this needs to be a standalone page. Please see WP:NOTNEWS and WP:LASTING.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Vanamonde93}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Creating pages of Sudanese Army & Sudanese Navy

[edit]

Hello,

Sudanese Army and Sudanese Navy - two service branches of the Sudanese Armed Forces have no Wikipedia pages. Service branches of other country’s armed forces have separate pages about them, except Sudan.

I noticed in Wikipedia:WikiProject Sudan that you're interested in military topic. So I'm requesting you to create pages about the two service branches. As a civil war is happening in Sudan right now, I think the military forces deserve separate wikipedia pages. I've added their names in 'Article Requests' at Wikipedia:WikiProject Sudan.

The Oblast

[edit]

I noticed your edit here, where you remove the definite article in "the Donetsk Oblast", claiming incorrect grammar. "The xxx Oblast" appears to be common phrasing in sources. Could you please point me in the right direction to better understand why "the" is incorrect here? SaintPaulOfTarsus (talk) 03:27, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to revert it, I just thought the the didn't flow well in the sentence. Most sources I see describe it as "the Donetsk region" anyway, I just figured with both Donetsk and Oblast being capitalized, and no "of x location" after it, it flowed better as a standalone phrase like Plateau State or Erzurum Province. Speedy deletion nomination of Crocus City Hall shooting

Hello Jebiguess,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Kiwiz1338, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Crocus City Hall shooting, for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at 2024 Crocus City Hall attack. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Kiwiz1338}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

I am asking you, Hezbollah are not innocent. Do not defend this terrorist organization. الرجل من مجدل (talk) 17:49, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Check my response in the talk page. I am not defending them, I HATE Hezbollah for what they've done in Syria and Lebanon. However just because of Hezbollah is awful we do not need to whitewash the history of the Golan Heights and underscore Israel's role in the conflict. Jebiguess (talk) 17:51, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is a saying in Arabic that goes: "يد واحدة لا تصفق," which means "one hand cannot clap... it takes two sides to play." But here, Hezbollah is interfering in a war that does not concern them, and in doing so, they are destroying Lebanon! الرجل من مجدل (talk) 17:58, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again, I agree with you, I am only reporting what reliable sources say. Jebiguess (talk) 18:00, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Thank you for your support in these difficult times. الرجل من مجدل (talk) 18:04, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest adding an internal link to Hezbollah, at least the first time the term appears in each section. · מקף Hyphen · 21:02, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Overcategorization in Battle of Tinzaouaten (2024)

[edit]

Hello, Jebiguess. I've reverted your edit, with the edit summary "per MOSCAT" in the article "Battle of Tinzaouaten (2024)".

As a general rule (see WP:PARENTCAT in WP:MOSCAT), "an article should be categorised under the most specific branch in the category tree possible, without duplication in parent categories above it. In other words, articles should rarely be placed in both a given category and any of its sub- or parent (super-) categories. For example, the article "Paris" need only be placed in Category:Cities in France, not also in Category:Populated places in France."

Please, note that Category:Battles in 2024, added by you, is a parent category for Category:Battles of the Mali War in 2024, a more specific sub-category, which is already present in the article. Russian Rocky (talk) 19:33, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Naungmon ambush. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Naungmon raid. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Naungmon raid. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions.

Autopatrolled granted

[edit]

Hi Jebiguess, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Joe (talk) 09:16, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jebiguess. Thank you for your work on Didier Dacko. Another editor, Shushugah, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thank you for interesting article! The biography section is redundant as entire article is a biography. It would benefit from being split into Early life and career sections. Grammar can be more active, e.g "Dacko is the Malian ambassador to People's..."

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Shushugah}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Zinghara skirmish moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Zinghara skirmish. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 07:37, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
