Techno Viking

[edit]

Hello - Just curious, what was it about the edit at Techno Viking that you found incorrect? Johnsmith2116 (talk) 20:51, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Winged Cat

[edit]

The information I added to Shia LaBeouf was properly referenced, and so far as I could tell complied with Wikipedia's living (or recently deceased) persons policy. I find your claim that my original edit was not properly referenced to be incorrect, as said edit which you reverted included a Time.com source (granted, I did not label it as Time, but the URL went to time.com), which you agree is reliable, regardless of any disagreement we may have about the quality of the other references (which I would not have included if I did not believe them reliable - but you agree that it is properly referenced even without those, as evidenced by your removal of said extra references). If you disagree with this, I invite you to check the page history, and look carefully at my first edit or your reversion of it.

While I appreciate the spirit in which your reversion and warnings were done, you did them in error in this case. I urge you to take more care before you revert edits in the future. Winged Cat (talk) 20:43, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I was in the process of fixing this article, when I noticed in the history that you had merged it into Epic Meal Time#Cast and crew back in 2012. An IP editor re-created the page March 3 with a generally bad version of it (messed up cites, etc..) Wonder if I should just revert to your version, or you feel if a merger discussion is needed? — Strongjam (talk) 20:04, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Northamerica1000. I noticed that you removed topically-relevant content from Bernie Sanders' Dank Meme Stash. However, Wikipedia is not censored to remove content that might be considered objectionable. Please do not remove or censor information that directly relates to the subject of the article. If the content in question involves images, you have the option to configure Wikipedia to hide images that you may find offensive. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. You'd think that if an unreliable source was used throughout a page, at least one editor would see it and remove it.--Otterathome (talk) 15:50, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, but your edits made a relatively stable page unstable, per the multiple errors that were left after the edit. North America1000 15:51, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
A productive editor would've noticed what I attempted to do, and repaired it, not just bang on the revert button.--Otterathome (talk) 15:54, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please consider fixing your own errors, rather than expecting others to do so for you. Thanks, North America1000 17:04, 14 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your Caution

[edit]

Firstly, if I have behaved in any way inappropriately by reversing your removal of a source, please accept my apologies. I reversed it because I could not understand why on earth anyone would remove a single reference from an article that is ostensibly one that uses all its sources to document the history of a phenomenon. However, given the length of time you have been editing, I naturally defer to your authority. In the light of that, could you please explain to me why you singled out that specific source as unreliable, as to me it is no more or less so than many others. Thereby, really I ought to strip the article considerably. Many thanks. PS: Cautioning was unnecessarily aggressive in my view. I have never behaved in any way with malicious or ill intent, and have made considerably thorough contributions to WP in the single year of my membership. You could have found a more compassionate way to respond without losing your ground.

[edit]

Hello, thanks for reviewing my page. I am new to submitting articles to Wikipedia, so I am trying to do it correctly. As best as I can tell, this article was rejected because it cited the university's athletic web site too much? I have added another newspaper reference and removed the facilities section which solely referenced the university's athletic web site. Rproctor721 (talk) 18:26, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:Rproctor721 All third-party sources are from Daytona Beach News-Journal. You need more, ideally non-local sources.--Otterathome (talk) 18:16, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Otterathome There are references from The Sun Conference, the Sunshine State Conference and the NAIA besides the local DB paper. When I look at all of the other pages of the teams in their conference, they don't have nearly the references that my page has. I guess I'm confused. Hi Otterathome, Thank you for your review of the First Draft I ever did on Wikipedia. I have to admit that it is very complicated and different platform for me..I created websites and used Dreamweaver ( long time ago), however I found that this platform is not easy. As for my 'article/Bio/Draft" on Djordje Djordjevic I know I missed external links and some validation. The problem is - and I have no idea how to resolve it - he came from former Yugoslavia to Canada before Internet time!! In a meantime former Yugoslavia doesn't exist, all publications about him are not in their archives anymore... I have all published articles( originals) with me but I can't find it on Internet!!!! Also, two galleries where he used to have exhibitions are closed now with no track record here in Toronto, Canada!!! I have his awards, his name published on invitation cards etc. but nothing, or small part is kept on Internet. I have just a few records about him that I will soon put on my Draft. It would be a pity not to have his name in Wikipedia - he was one great man and amazing artist. The whole Serbian community here in Toronto knows him. Any Advice will be highly appreciated. There is so many links in every Wikipedia "how to do" sentence - that I simply don't know where to start. Please help me.Thanks a lot! Maya MaxMara

Hello Otterathome, thank you for re-reviewing the page about tenor saxophone player Jimmy Roberts. I've already made some alterations in references using advice from the previous reviewer and I thought that would be enough. Could you please specify what else I should do to improve the reference part and make it acceptable? I will be very thankful for your advice.

NataliaWozniak (talk) 19:33, 6 August 2017 (UTC)NataliaWozniak[reply]

User:NataliaWozniak the sources are not very substantial, mostly mentions of the subject in articles about bands.--Otterathome (talk) 19:45, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Otterathhome, thank you for your guidance, I'm going to make a more thorough reasearch again. I am not sure if my references aren't too detailed. Before I started creating the page I had had a look at Wikipedia articles about other comparable instrumental musicians and I saw just a few references, for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jake_Clemons. Another thing concerning instrumental musicians is that they are often sidemen of other, more recognizable musicians and therefore the possibility of finding very substantial referances may be a bit limited. Let me know what approach I should take, because I feel a little confused after the second rejection.

Hello! Thank you for getting back to me regarding the submission I made for Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. You had responded that you declined my request and that I should make an edit to the existing Rainbow Bridge page. I did that on 8/6/2017 but I do not know if the edit went through properly. Please advise, as this process is honestly quite confusing.

I am not asking for a re-review yet, for I plan to add more links verifying the subject's significance according to Wikipedia's standards and apologize for not doing so on the first pass. However, I was wondering why you said WP:Autobio's not welcome here when I am definitely not Adam J Kurtz. I have made or linked to several other Wikipedias for people related to him but am simply a fan. I do admit to getting his input as his Wikipedia publicly reflects him but I have no intention of not being objective in my submission. Let me know what I can do to correct this problem specifically. -ZH

This article is actually a quasi-translation of a Chinese wikipedia page of the same topic. https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%A9%86%E6%96%AF%E6%9E%97%E7%9A%84%E8%91%AC%E7%A4%BC

If you just google the Chinese title "穆斯林的葬礼" you will see a lot of discussions from different sources, in recent years and in the past.

I do not think notability is an issue because this novel received the Maodun Literature Award, the most prestigious award of literature in China. The book sold well in the 1980s. A movie was also made from it.
