Has anyone got the original edition?

I've got the revised version from The Wind's Twelve Quarters. This says that the original appeared in Orbit 5, 1969.

I'm trying to trace the development of Le Guin's ideas. The two Gethen tales are the first to mention the Ekumen and the first to say that all humans are of Hainish descent. Did the notions first appear in this work, or did she add them when she revised and adjusted the gender-names? --GwydionM 15:30, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Link to Semley's Necklace

Lots of SF writers have used Einsteinian time dilation. Semley's Necklace was orignal in that it linked it to the fairy-tale concept of people not aging when in the company of magic folk. This story is different because the Gethenians have apparently acquired scientific knowledge and understand the process. The whole focus is psychological, the chief character confronting and dealing with the possibility of her abusing power. --GwydionM (talk) 17:31, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
