[edit]This is a pretty obvious fluff piece; it reads like it was taken from some official bio somewhere. If I knew how, I'd mark it for clean up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.28.224.198 (talk) 19:57, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Edit: I cleaned up some of the fluffier stuff as best I could. It originally read like it was from Sarkisian's PR team or something — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2620:0:1001:7804:952C:7A19:7D04:D503 (talk) 19:07, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
where's he from?
[edit]sarkisian sounds like an Armenian name. But it could also be Iranian (like TJ of the Bengals, or Eric Bakhtiari of the Raiders). Any confirmation on his parental or ancestral origins?32.144.153.148 (talk) 07:30, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
- He's half-Armenian and half-Irish per the source I cited in the article. BlueAg09 (Talk) 08:03, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
- Good find on the article, but as for the earlier question... you might not know many -ian/-yan last names. Persians don't generally have that as an ending, though Armenians who've long lived in modern-day Iran (and there are a significant number) would have kept the ending. Fun fact: you can find certain common last names in Azerbaijan, only they would see the same name Russified with an -ov/-ev/-ova, etc. ending. --Bobak (talk) 15:48, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
I have modified the lead to state this figure's nationality rather than his ethnicity, which is proper according to the manual of style for biographical articles. Ethnicity is not to be emphasized in the lead unless it is relevant to the subject's notability. Robert K S (talk) 23:16, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Technically he was with Alabama until 2021
[edit]Technically he was with Alabama until 2021. He coached the Rose Bowl on 01/01/2021 and is expected to coach the national championship game on 01/11/2021 before going to Austin, TX. Bryanlbrown91 (talk) 22:19, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- Bryanlbrown91, in terms of the calendar year, yes, but it's still the 2020 season and that's what is shown in the infobox. Mackensen (talk) 16:03, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
