Picture

[edit]

You have got wron picture. This is the other de Salaberry. See pl:Charles de Salaberry or fr:Charles de Salaberry Jonasz.

note that the photograph there now is correct - it is actually a photo of an engraving. Please note also that the image on the pl wiki is almost certainly not right. C-M d'I de S. died in the pre-photographic era. I believe that the very first crude photographs date to ~1837. Fawcett5 03:35, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)
This picture is right. The picture on the pl wiki is Charles-Rene-Leonidas d’Irumberry de Salaberry, the son of Charle-Michel d'Irumbrerry de Salaberry. --BarLaf 18:24, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

searching and redirecting

[edit]

neither a search for Salabery (which makes sense) nor Salaberry nor de Salaberry comes to this page. It would be very helpful if someone who knows what he or she is doing could add that funcionality.--Richardson mcphillips (talk) 15:41, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's Salaberry. Both Irumberry and Salaberry are Basque surnames. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.85.2.56 (talk) 17:57, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There's a château called Irumberry that belongs to a village called St.-Jean-le-Vieux (a.k.a. Donazaharre) in Basse Navarre (=Lower Navarre). The hall dates from 1189.

obscure sentence

[edit]

"Charles-Michel's father ... had served as a member died legislative council of Lower Canada for 30 years." What should this be? simply omit the word 'died'? modify it to "had served and died as a member"? --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 15:44, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Major General?

[edit]

Any sources stating whether he was promoted beyond Lieutenant-Colonel? — Preceding unsigned comment added by AloysiusZimmerfloss (talkcontribs) 04:14, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Charles de Salaberry of Basque background?

[edit]

nothing said in the article, but wasn't Salaberry from a noble Basque family? like how someone can be from a noble French family.

Maybe good if the article (like the French wiki) could mention something about Salaberry's basqueness. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:21B:D600:226:8FF:FEDC:FD74 (talk) 22:58, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
