Plot

[edit]

WP:CMOSPLOT strictly outlines that "Summarising should never be on a per-issue basis and should only outline the plot rather than describe minor details". The article and series is still new so we should not start off on the wrong foot. We should wait atleast until the first arc is complete to add a concise summary. Also until atleast then we have no idea on how notable the events of each issue are in terms of the overall series.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 00:06, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Characters

[edit]

Please stop including characters who aren't in the series as students, Loa was never a member of the team she was there with the X-men, and members of The Initiative have barely been featured and therefore shouldn't be included. Also I think listing guest instructors is valid info and i will keep replacing it if you keep deleting it. Hercules belongs in a separate section with other non-permanent faculty. I tried to include them in the faculty section with a note saying they were guest instructors but you deleted that too. I do not appreciate my work being erased after i put in actual effort to improve this page and I will be reporting you if this continues. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.174.252.136 (talk) 14:23, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of things:
  • First your changes were disputed by several editors, do not edit war or you maybe blocked from editing. Instead try to work to a consensus or compromise here in discussion.
  • The students that were listed have all been formally accepted into the academy as stated in the series and by third party sources (see publication history).
  • Loa stayed behind after the teen mutants left in issue #31
  • The guest instructors are not notable, for the most part they are single issue appearances and are not formal members of the faculty or staff.
  • Hercules joined the Academy full-time in issue #29 and is even listed as part of staff on the inside cover in issue #31.

Re::A couple of things: You said: "The guest instructors are not notable, for the most part they are single issue appearances and are not formal members of the faculty or staff." By that logic you should not include characters like Whiz Kid or Butterball. Why do you get to decide what is and is not "notable" anyway? Please stop deleting my contributions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.174.252.136 (talk) 17:24, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also I thought it was clear that Hercules was a guest instructor who would only appear in the AvX issues. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.174.252.136 (talk) 17:27, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As I stated above characters like Whiz Kid and Butterball are officially enrolled in the academy as stated in both primary and third party sources. The guest instructors are not officially a part of the Academy. See my comments above about Hercules. Also you are the one continuing to disrupt the page even after being informed on how the WP:BRD cycle works, reverting myself, 74.34.79.125, ClueBot NG and J Greb (an administrator mind you). I should warn you that you are well beyond the three-revert limit.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 18:03, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think there's anything wrong with listing guest instructors, as long as it's sourced, per WP:V/WP:CS, et al. Nightscream (talk) 03:02, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Very well, thank you for the second opinion.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 03:36, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hercules is a guest instructor, as Christos Gage stated here:

http://marvel.com/news/story/18095/avx_comes_to_avengers_academy this should be the right link

Here is the exact quote: “Madison Jeffries and Kavita Rao of the X-Men’s Science Team will act as chaperones of a sort, and Hercules will be around as a guest teacher from the Avengers side. Oh, and he’ll be naked. You’re welcome.”

I am blocked from editing the page because I have been accused of "edit warring", yet my information is more accurate than TriiipleThreat's. I will be filing a formal complaint against him through the Admin noticeboards. I am also asking that I not be bullied or harassed for trying to contribute to this page in the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.174.252.136 (talk) 15:34, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please check your link as it does not seem to working correctly. I will go ahead and make the change based on good faith. Still I cant help to think that this could all have been avoid by following WP:BRD as I stated on your talk page. The protection was added because of your conduct not because of the content of material. Template:Uw-ew states, Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:49, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
