600 or 630 meters?

[edit]

Unfortunately, the ITU does not give the amateur radio bands it allocates formal names. This is typically left up to the community and/or individual administrations to establish. Typical amateur convention is for the formal name to be based on the wavelength (EG: x-meter band); however, as of this writing, two numbers are commonly being used for the wavelength, 600 and 630. "600 meter ham band" seems to be more prevalent at this time, but this could easily change in the future. Thus, I propose keeping the title 600-meter amateur radio band for now, then revising the name, if necessary, as administrations start allocating 472-479 kHz to Hams.

It's clear in publications that 630 m became the common name for this band, so I renamed the article to match the other ham bands. I also redirected links in prominent articles to the renamed page.
