Santhosh Balaraj is an Indian actor who has predominantly worked on Kannada-language films. The son of producer Anekal Balaraj, Santhosh began his career in the lead role in Kempa (2009). He gained popularity for his performance in the 2015 action thriller Ganapa.[1]

Career

In 2009, he played the lead role in his debut movie Kempa, produced by his father Anekal Balaraj.[2] His following films, a family drama titled Olavina Ole (2012) and action film Janma (2013). While the former released to mixed reviews, the latter released to positive reviews.[3][4] In Ganapa, he played an innocent man forced to get into rowdyism. Regarding his performance, a critic wrote that "Santhosh, especially, has grown as a performer".[5][6] His latest film Kariya 2 which is an action romantic thriller set in the backdrop of underworld was released in October 2017.[7][8] The film opened to mixed to positive reviews. His role as Kariya was well received.[9][10]
