Salma Hassan is Pakistani actress. She is best known for her role in sitcom Sub Set Hai. Some of her other notable appearances include Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay, Khaani, Do Bol, Pyar Ke Sadqay and Parizaad.[3][4][5]
Early life
[edit]Salma was born on 1975 in 25 February in Karachi, Pakistan.[6] She completed studies from University of Karachi, she graduated with a Master's degree in history.[6]
Career
[edit]Hassan made her debut as an actress in 1998 on PTV with a supporting role in Mehreen Jabbar's Dhoop Mein Sawan.[7][8] In 2001, she rose to prominence with her comic role in sitcom Sub Set Hai.[9][7] After a few more appearances, she went into hiatus of few years.[8] After her return, she is now widely cast in the role of mothers.[10][11] Khaani, Pyar Ke Sadqay, Parizaad and Mujhe Pyar Hua Tha are some of the television series where she portrayed such roles.[12][7]
Personal life
[edit]Hassan was married to director and actor Azfar Ali, with whom she had worked on the sitcom Sub Set Hai of Indus Vision.[13] They worked together on screen too.[14] They were divorced in 2012,[2] and has one daughter from their marriage.[15]
